Biking in Haliburton County, Ontario. This is not a rails trail. Biking is on county roads. Except for summer weekends, traffic is fairly light. There are no hills, just a few short slopes. Starting Point: From the intersection of highways 118 and 35, drive north on 35 for 3.5 km. Turn right on North Shore Road. In less than a kilometre, you will come to the Township of Almaguin Highlands offices. There is lots of parking here. Two porta pottys, tennis courts, a museum and a large covered picnic area. Follow North Shore Road as it follows Beech Lake. In a few km you come to a bridge on your right. Take a 50 metre detour to observe a beautiful limestone Anglican Church on St. Peter’s Road.
