Snake Village Hey there! Snake Village is right in Hanoi. We signed up through Hanoi Backpackers (The biggest backpacker hostel in Hanoi). It was well organized and probably the most fun since it's all backpackers that stay there. Enjoy!

Strong Heart hey hey hey... just read your blog on snake hearts...uummm Lindsay how could you... but i guess as they say in rome do ... so in Hanoi do the same. Your blogs are ever so lively and life is an adventure - truly for you both. I throughly enjoy reading them...
Glad I finished eating lunch Hey Guys, what an experience!! I especially enjoyed the graphic details of the still beating heart making its way through your digestive tract. Miss you both!
I'm both impressed and horrified... Wow...you guys are even braver than Indiana Jones. I am especially impressed that Lindsay went first. Good to know it tastes like chicken, but I don't think I'll be trying that shot any time soon.
Good to hear from you guys and your amazing adventures.
Fat Head Hahaha. I actually laughed out loud while reading the story of Hank and Sheila. I want to see your puffy paint shirt, Matt. I probably could have done a better job, and for free too!
p.s I can't believe how much weight you've lost, brother! Your head looks huge in that picture too. I know you've always had a big head, but it just looks more akward! haha
Miss you guys!
oh no! hey guys....
just wanted to say.....I saw the pic of the old lady chewing betal nut....hopefully you guys didn't have any - it's not good for you and causes cancer! Serious! say away!!!!
Love you!
Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows everywhere... hey hey...life really is a beach in Thailand! Your blogs are amazing, you are definately working too hard though, you are on vacation!lol You are both looking pretty hot in those tans...keep smiling :):)
Amazing! This is such a cool story, way to go! I envy you two, can't wait to catch up when you're back.
Incidentally, at my new job, I get to drink on the job. AND I recently got to drink a beer while doing a presentation to a series of agencies and directors. :D That said, I didn't get to do it on an island. :(
You have captured this really well. I am impressed with not only your photo's but your ability to describe this disaster from your own point of view and reflection.

Skip Patong, Not Phuket Hey Matt and Linds,
If you're talking about Patong beach (matches your description) then I definitely understand what you're saying about Phuket, but Phuket is a huge island and you're not really giving it much credit. I went into Patong for about an hour one night in February and got the hell out in a heartbeat. It's a huge shithole with a questionable beach. However, if you take the time (about 10 minutes) to go over to the next beach, Karon, or another 10 minutes to Kata Beach, you'll not be disappointed. There were rooms to suit all comers (we stayed at Karon Beach) as my parents found a good place for them at 1200 baht and I found a very clean guesthouse for 400 baht just around the corner (I got a hotel style room, with my own hot shower, mini fridge, two fans, clean sheet and towels daily) called the Beshert Inn. The nightlife was not crazy (that's what Patong was for) but the beach was certainly chill and the food was fantastic and not overpriced. I met some really good people there! So all I'm saying is that you can't judge the entire island by that one tourist trap!!

Who can forget the 'Killing Fields' Lindsay and Matt: I am sure that walking in the 'Killing Fields' must have been eerie. I saw the movie long time ago and was taken aback by all the violence. I had hoped that humans learned something from this sad saga in southeast Asia. Your tips are great. This is the edu-tourism / historical tourism at its best. Very nicely reported indeed. Please keep posting.
Life Hey LandM, reading your bolg... what can i say. No words as i have know of these autrocities for long. Its difficult for the other part of the world to understand torture as it is beyond imagination. So thankful that we grew up in lovely surroundings and had every opportunity to plan our own lives.

I laughed all the way through this blog. It seems Cambodia has a special way of introducing backpackers to their country...my bus experience was much of the same. As painful as it was at the time, it is now one of my best stories. You two are truly experiencing SE Asia and I love re-living it through you! Keep the blogs coming :)
'atta girl! Lindz, I'm so proud of you for riding on your own! Isn't it great.
I'm sure Matt really enjoyed it too--I know how anxious he has been to ride again.
Your adventures sound amazing and I enjoy living vicariously through your stories and pictures.
Continue to keep us posted. Have fun!
