Hey guys! Glad to hear you did some relaxing and easing back into "real life". I can imagine a routine, and particularly work, will be hard to get back into. But, what an amazing adventure you both had. I loved reading about it and can't wait to see you both for more stories.

NZ is my wife's dream destination - From: Scratching the Backbone of the Southern Alps
What a fantastic trip of NZ you two are having. Lindsay, my wife visited NZ and especially its Fjordland National Park and hiked in its renouned Milford Track as a young girl. She keeps torturing me all the time talking about the beauty of NZ's Southern Island. But unlike the two of you, we will remain off extreme sports. That is not for us haha. But I do admire your courage. Your blogs are very informative. We are gathering all the info we can through your writings. Nice job indeed, but do remember -"greater the summer vacation, harder the fall" haha - just kidding. And hope to see you again with TriFit. Keep posting all the nice posts. Live long and prosper.

Finally, the wildlife haha - From: Turtles and Sharks and Rays, Oh My!
Lindsay: Its so good to be on your pages again, especially this travel entry is great. Good wildlife encounters. Good pictures. Matt and you seem to be enjoying the wilder side of Malaysia and not so enjoying the comfy side LOL. Malaysia is my family's favorite destination. We have been there and will be there again soon. So any shark and ray encounters - be careful. Don't attempt a Steve Irvine please. Photography from safe distance is the best bet.

Skip Patong, Not Phuket - From: Swim Suits, Santa Hats and Birthday Buckets
Hey Matt and Linds, If you're talking about Patong beach (matches your description) then I definitely understand what you're saying about Phuket, but Phuket is a huge island and you're not really giving it much credit. I went into Patong for about an hour one night in February and got the hell out in a heartbeat. It's a huge shithole with a questionable beach. However, if you take the time (about 10 minutes) to go over to the next beach, Karon, or another 10 minutes to Kata Beach, you'll not be disappointed. There were rooms to suit all comers (we stayed at Karon Beach) as my parents found a good place for them at 1200 baht and I found a very clean guesthouse for 400 baht just around the corner (I got a hotel style room, with my own hot shower, mini fridge, two fans, clean sheet and towels daily) called the Beshert Inn. The nightlife was not crazy (that's what Patong was for) but the beach was certainly chill and the food was fantastic and not overpriced. I met some really good people there! So all I'm saying is that you can't judge the entire island by that one tourist trap!! -Dan

Who can forget the 'Killing Fields' - From: The Missing Generation
Lindsay and Matt: I am sure that walking in the 'Killing Fields' must have been eerie. I saw the movie long time ago and was taken aback by all the violence. I had hoped that humans learned something from this sad saga in southeast Asia. Your tips are great. This is the edu-tourism / historical tourism at its best. Very nicely reported indeed. Please keep posting.
