I live in Seoul now and just wanted to say that you should totally check out Seoul on your layover cuz 11 hours is a lot of time and its only about 40 mins from the airport to the downtown core and it's pretty nice. Thanks for all your great inspiration, I plan on backpacking thru South Asia in 4 months. |

I'm thinking it would be so much fun to share these experiences with you but encounters with massive big bugs & rats, probably as big as us, wouldn't be fun for me .. you know what I'm like with spiders. You can bring me home a monkey tho...they are my fav. Luv ya, Aunti Chatchi |
| 2nd August 2008 Two Canadians Eh | - From: Vietnamese Boat Dancing, Rice Paddies, And The Tourism Mafia We understand that poverty is an issue and that they're trying to put food on the table, but is not okay to extort money or rip travellers off outrageouslly, which was our continued experience throughout northern Vietnam. They only care about the dollar now, and have no forethought for the future (as in, they're destroying their tourism industry by treating tourists like walking dollar signs). |
| 2nd August 2008 Kevin | - From: Vietnamese Boat Dancing, Rice Paddies, And The Tourism Mafia It is always annoying continuously getting ripped off and heckled. However, try to remember that some of the locals rely on this income for there livelihood. It is a way of putting food on the table. |
| 8th July 2008 Adrian | - From: "Canada ... Oooo, Fidel Casto?!?" I applaud you guys so much for dealing with all the crap along the way. It seems like good fun, but I'd be so frustrated by now. Glad the Tamagotchi's kept you entertained haha didn't even know those things were still available. but SE asia looks like an experience. good luck with the rest. ps I just spent about an hour at work reading your last blogs cuz I'm bored doing all this office work ha |
| 8th July 2008 Adrian | - From: Sign Sign Everywhere A Sign ... that looks awesome. there were 4 guys from singapore on my tour in Europe and the whole time they gave the group "fun facts about Singapore" and it was all things like the illegal gum, cleanliness, and other things you mentioned. Glad you guys went and took lots of pics because it's definitely one of my future trips. |

| 8th July 2008 Adrian | - From: Vietnamese Boat Dancing, Rice Paddies, And The Tourism Mafia that's awesome how you guys get to see the real Vietnam. too bad you always have to deal with people ripping you off. and I though Egypt was bad. yikes. |
| 8th July 2008 Adrian | yikes - From: "Screw Mr. Sam and the Minibus, We Want to Ride in His Lexus!" I felt frustrated just reading that. Glad you guys are still tredging through all the B.S. and dodgy people. and that bus looks crazy, no wonder you didn't get on |

| 27th April 2008 Kai and Danielle | don't pee or poo on Angkor Wat - part 3 - From: "Screw Mr. Sam and the Minibus, We Want to Ride in His Lexus!" Hey you! I've tried sending you an email this afternoon, but the internet got disconnected so you might not have received my email. When I tried it again the email went to our weblog instead of yours, even though I doublechecked everything. Stupid computers! Anyway, let's try it again. So, you miss us eh. Well, we couldn't really enjoy Sihanoukville since you left us behind. Kai got a mental breakdown but he felt much better after he put some drugs up his bum in the bus to Vietnam. So he couldn't poo but he could pee on the bus. We also got our water and snacks so it was actually a good deal, especially because they guided us through the whole border crossing process and that basically meant that we could just sit back and relax. Vietnam is turning out to be a pleasant surprise. The people are friendlier then we expected them to be. There's only one drawback: fining vegetarian food for Danielle is a real karfuffle! So come to Vietnam soon! And we can bitch about the bad veggie food together! Oh, and off course we can't wait to hear your latest pee and poo story! Hope to see you soon! Loads of love and greetings from the two european idiots! |
| 24th April 2008 Isaac | - From: "Screw Mr. Sam and the Minibus, We Want to Ride in His Lexus!" how long did you end up waiting for the riel bus, edmonton oilers? these kraft dinners you speak of must be fantastic, but if you don't find those... siem reap's one and only mexican restaurant (by pub street) has 2 tacos for $1.50 on saturdays and they hit the spot anyway...it was nice talking to you on the bus from koh kong, and i've yet to peruse the other entries on your blog, but it seems you 2 have got your priorities crooked (at least by cookie-cutter back-at-home standards) and we were impressed all the best, isaac and crew |

| 23rd December 2007 Two Canadians Eh | - From: Rwanda Rwanda! hi ingina! thanks for the comments! we really did love rwanda and for sure plan to return! and thanks for the tip on "umunzungu" ... we had heard the word a million times, and knew what it meant, but had no clue how to spell it! (and we didn't mind it at all, it's like gringo in south america!). ;) happy travels! |
| 18th December 2007 Maria | Suntan! - From: Rwanda Rwanda! Looks like you guys are getting a nice tan- even sunburned!! - are you wearing your sunscreen?? :) |
| 17th December 2007 Duga | - From: Rwanda Rwanda! One says MUZUNGU and not Mozumbu |
| 17th December 2007 Ingina y'Igihanga | Muraho!! - From: Rwanda Rwanda! Trevor and Kristena, The above title means "Greetings!" in Kinyarwanda, the local Rwandan language. "Umuzungu" means 'white person' and is not at all derogative, as many visiting people who are not black seem to think. It is usually used by curious kids who must give you a name when they want to greet you. Meals and accommodation are not necessarily expensive, except of course in the expensive hotels. Outside the high-cost circuit, there are many locals ready to guide you to places that can answer to your pocket desires. Rusesabagina is a Hollywood creation, a crafty fellow who exploited his position for financial gain during the genocide, and went ahead to seek out filmmakers to sell a fabricated story for more financial loot. It is now emerging that he is in cahoots with the genocidaires. Otherwise, come again! The security and cleanliness you witnessed are set to endure, and indeed Rwanda is sure to be among the world's top tourist destinations. Ingina |

Hi my honey's Just wanted to let you know the news report that said this will be the coldest winter across Canada in 15 years. I want you to re-live what you would be going through right now in Edmonton, the scraping and sweeping off the car, the wind chill bite on your fingers, burrrrr! Doesn't that make you feel good to know you are missing all that? We already had a huge dump of snow here in Abbyville, and then the next day it rained and it was all gone. I got the X-mas decorations up, another thing you don't have to worry about this year. Where do you think you'll be for X-mas? When you come back I'll make you a big turkey dinner.
