I never thought I'd see the day where I would attempt to go surfing. But then my whole trip has been about challenging myself and going out of my comfort zone. So this was definitely one of those challenges.. After saying goodbye to my job, friends and home for the past 3 months me and Loza set out on our 5 day surf course with Mojosurf up the Eastcoast to their camp base at Crescent Head. The instructors were all typical aussie surfers (hmmm…yummy) whom were a laugh and made it an interesting trip! So after unloading our bags and doing [View Full Entry]

The time has come to move on from Sydney. After having a further 5 more enjoyable weeks including the festivities of Australia Day. I am now packing my bags and moving on. I have really enjoyed Sydney as a whole; my flat, my friends, my job, my life but you know when to move on and now is my time. Friday 2nd Feb is my last day working for Dairy Farmers and I can easily say that it has been the best company I have worked for. I have felt totally appreciated for my hard efforts and I am sad that [View Full Entry]

The piercing of the tongue

Wow! What an ending to one of the best years of my life... I am so happy and content that I wouldn’t actually change or regret a thing I have done in 2006! Travelling has been the best thing for me, at the beginning I was concerned I would feel lonely leaving all my friends and family but everything I have gone through has made me the person I am now, a better person. I have had 2 weeks off work and it has been nice to relax and do some more sightseeing and socialising. The weather has been very temperamental [View Full Entry]

Done the Neighbours tour it would be rude not to do the Neighbours quiz night…. When I was in Melbourne I tried to convince Tony to go to the quiz night with me but he wasn’t up for it and I wasn’t keen on going on my own so I didn’t do it. But I found out that they do a Neighbours night once a month in Sydney so I jumped at the chance and dragged Laura with me. What is the Neighbours quiz night I hear you ask? It’s a general knowledge quiz night when 3 Neighbours characters come along [View Full Entry]

Wow! Where to start from?.... It has definitely been an eventful birthday I can say that from the start. My birthday festivities firstly started when me and Laura went to see John Butler Trio in concert and only one word came describe my feelings 'awesome'! I told him I wanted to marry him and have his babies, and he told me he loved me so really it's a perfect love affair, voiding the 200 other people in the room! Following on from that, on the morning of my birthday I did the most important of all birthday traditions of opening my [View Full Entry]

November is the month of fireworks and bonfire night, and it was also meant to be the month of my return to the UK but I am lagging behind my travel schedule and also having soooo much fun that I'm staying on another 6 months!!!! My plans are now to stay in Sydney for my birthday, xmas and New Year! And then go to New Zealand for 2 months and then come back to Oz to travel some more. I haven't done the east coast and there are a few places I would like to go back to so I shall [View Full Entry]

Melbourne, the home of the Melbourne Cup, 'Neighbours' and me! ... Well at least it was for 11 days... We arrived in Melbourne once coming to the end of our Ocean Rd adventure and went on recommendation to stay 20 mins out of the city at a seaside town called St Kilda. We spent 5 days sight seeing and trying out the locals (I mean pubs!) where every night of the week you wouldn't be short of finding a live band playing. We also met the crazy Lincoln girls Katy and Jenna whom we checked out of few clubs with... messy [View Full Entry]

After getting an hour flight over to Tazi we went straight to the hire car desk rather than tour operators desk. I have figured that it is much better to travel on your own accord rather than being sheponrand about. We obvoiusly went for the cheapest option and got a little Daewoo Matiz, that has a cruncher of a gear box, balded tires and very bad suspension. Tony described it as driving a rollerskate on marbles! Which was totally true.. We set out driving along the North East Forest and down along the coast to a town called Bicheno where we [View Full Entry]

I seemed to have obtained a new habit of waking myself up (and other people in the dorm) by sneezing! I don't know why I suddenly have these fits where I'm all snot but this time I lost my nose stud... I wasn't really keen on going through my snoty tissues to find it, so a new one it was. The only problem was that the hole closed up and I had to pierce through it myself... ooouucchhh!! So the morning of the 18th Oct we had a birthday breakfast for Tony. He was feelig a little sick after his stack [View Full Entry]

When we got to the car rental depo little did we know that it was our lucky day! Not only was the relocation price from $25 a day dropped down to $1 a day, we also had our car upgraded to a Nissan Primera. After saying our goodbyes and thank yous to John and Sheila we packed up 'Priscilla' and set out on our 3 day Great Ocean Road trip. The first day we drove from Adelaide to Mt Gambier. I was still in the Wicked van lifestyle and suggested we slept in the car to save on cost. It didn't [View Full Entry]
