What can I say, I am a Sagittarian that is is full of life and out to explore the world :) I am who I am today through my travels, the people that have crossed my path and with my families endless support. Hope you enjoy reading my adventures as much as I enjoy living them.

Remember life is too short so get your backpack out and travel safe. xx

What is a journey???
A journey is not a trip. It's not a vacation
It's a process = A discovery = It's a process of self discovery
A journey brings us face to face with ourselves
A journey shows us not only the world but how we fit in.
Does the person create the journey or does the journey create the person?
The journey is life itself!! …………………….Where will life take you??? - Louis Vuitton advert 2008

It was extremely hard to leave Australia as I have had such an amazing year and met so many lovely people, most importantly I got to meet my partner Benjamin whom I am excited to say is coming over to England in November. But for now, my work visa was running out and I had yet more travel plans arranged so I bid my farewells and boarded a plane to Borneo to fulfill a long time dream. I signed myself up for a 4 week Orangutan Volunteer Program at Matang Wildlife Centre in Kubah National Park. Matang Wildlife Centre (MWC) is one of the very few orangutan rehabilitation centres in the world. The centres aim is to rehabilitate endangered animals with the eventual release back into the wild where they belong. MWC not only holds Orangutans ... read more

Kulgera Road House, Central Australia You are reviewing your CV and list all the jobs you have done; Village job- tick Town job- tick City job- tick But how many of you can say you've worked in the outback!!!!!! Me! Me! Me! Having experienced a roadtrain through central Australia I thought my outback adventures would be complete if I worked in a roadhouse. A roadhouse is a service station in the middle of no-where providing all the necessities after a long trip such as; accommodation, fuel, food and ofcourse a tavern providing icy cold beer. I managed to organise work through Popeye's (the roadtrain driver I caught a lift with from Darwin to Adelaide) contact at Kulgera Roadhouse, 270km south of Alice Springs, to start immediately. So once my Ozbus trip finished in Sydney on the ... read more

Day 79- 81 Darwin Arriving into Darwin after a 3hour flight from Bali was an exasperating time. The realisation of arriving back to Oz was making me num to all emotion. No one could stop me once those plane doors were open, I was first off the plane, first to go through passport control and I made it through customs!.... I was back in the land down under…. We had a 3night stay in Darwin giving me a chance to ... read more

Malaysia; Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka Indonesia; Pekanbaru, Jambi, Palembang, Bandar Lampung, Bandung, Pangandaron, Yogyakarta and Bali After having had a relaxing time in Thailand and a total of 8 non drive days I certainly wasn’t looking forward to the next 10 days of constant driving. Due to the nature of the trip and its time scale unfortunately there are times where long drive days such as 9-13 hours are possible. For me its not so much the long drive days its the constant moving that gets me. Its actually come to the point where I am so used to all the long hours of travelling that I wouldn’t notice how the time would fly. What is it they say, that ‘time flies when you’re having fun’ : ) ) Day 63- Penang, Malaysia So after an ... read more

Thailand; Bangkok, Koh Samui, Hatyai Namaste!! And welcome to the land of thai green curries, floating markets and beach parties! A country where I have visited on numerous occasions in which every time it seems to have delivered a totally different experience. Day 54-55 Bangkok, Thailand After our 3 hour flight from Calcutta we were greeted by our Thai rep and taken to our hotel in the Banglamphu neighbourhood. With intentions to sus out the local area a few of us popped out for a bite to eat and then decided to check out the infamous Khaosan Road bars. Not feeling totally in the mood for a party me and Una left the group to then have a facial. It was an hour’s worth of scrubbing and rubbing and washing, I thought my face was going ... read more

Nepal; Lumbini, Chitwan, Pokhara, Kathmandu, The Last Resort, Hetauda India; Siliguri, Maldah, Kolkata Day 40- Lumbini, Nepal How can it be possible to have two vast worlds within 10 steps of eachother? One minute we were fighting our way through the hussle and bussle of India and the next we were surrounded by the beauty and peace of Nepal. We left our Indian bus behind and made the border crossing by foot to be greeted on arrival by the Nepalese reps. The change of buses in each country has been very consistent. And as for the reps they each have their own unique qualities. Our first night stop was in Lumbini, where we visited the birthplace of Buddha and watched young monks singing and partaking in their daily rituals. Our hotel was nice and I had ... read more

India; Amritsar, Delhi, Agra, Lucknow, Varanasi Day 32- Amritsar, India India, a truly multidimensional metropolis that is overrun with eager touts and crush of mechanical and human traffic, considered one of the world largest yet poorest countries. With intensions to acclimatise to the poverty ridden, hectic way of life was an eye opening experience. The high birth rate, a low literacy rate and an erratic electricity supply was the common theme throughout the places we visited. It was a week of my life that has made me realise that what we have is not all bad!? Once arriving to Amritsar, our first pit stop in India, we had hotel issues, ones that involved hygiene and security, I did ask myself the question can we expect such luxuries in such a country. Once all was resolved we ... read more

Pakistan; Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Multan, Lahore Day 25- Karachi, Pakistan With the intention of avoiding the Afghanistan border we flew from Iran to Pakistan. Taking 2,5hours from Tehran to Karachi we were greeted into a warm but colourful country. Thankfully we were allowed to remove our headscarfs, it was only in religious places we needed to put them back on again. We were given police escorts throughout our stay in Pakistan, which felt slightly unnerving at the beginning but we quickly got accustomed to it… now I know what it feels like to be a celeb… After meeting our local tour guide Amjad we were given a tour of Karachi and saw the guard change at Quaid-e-Azam's Mausoleum, we later got an opportunity to dip our feet in the sea at Clifton Beach and have a ... read more

Iran; Tabriz, Zanjan, Tehran, Esfahan, Tehran If someone turned around to me and said wear your pj’s down Oxford Street, I would say “don’t be daft, I’d attract attention and look silly”. Well that was exactly the expression we were getting from the locals throughout Iran. Little did we know that eventhough in public they wear black as their religious wear, in the bedroom it’s a different kettle of fish… So there was us 15 women dressed in all the colours of the rainbow and not a single head unturned. And not to mention the riots that we got caught up in Tehran and Esfahan, we just stood out like sore thumbs!!! Day 19- Tabriz, Iran Once we said our goodbyes to Martin, our driver who took us through Europe and Turkey, we put on our ... read more

Turkey; Istanbul, Goreme, Erzincan, Dogubeyazit Days 12, 13, 14- Istanbul, Turkey After a whirlwind 11 days through Europe we had finally come to a country I was most looking forward to. Not only was the weather guaranteed to be warm and sunny but I was also going to get to see Mama, Meral and Tim. It was nice to be going through familiar territory and to have loved ones fly out to be with you was a mega bonus. Once we had crossed the Bulgarian, Turkish border we drove to Istanbul and arrived to Sultanahmet where the group would be staying for the next 3 days, I then went my separate way and crossed over to the Asian side to meet up with M, M &T. It was so good to see them again it almost ... read more
