We got up around lunch and headed out for the day. We took our first subway ride down to the city center. It was a nice little trip and very cheap. We spent most the day just walking around. We had a great pizza lunch at a place called Los Immortales. Great pizza and Jo had the potato pasta, Gnocchi. We walked around the Recoleta neighborhood for a few hours. It is known for its French/Parisian architecture. We definitely felt like we were in Paris. After Recoleta, we headed over to Florida Avenue. This place was very touristy and we sort [View Full Entry]

Sunday was Josephine's birthday. We got up to rush to our brunch at a place called Olsen. It is a Scandinavian influenced place. Awesome breakfast. Where else does a breakfast set come with a beer? The place was very chic. After brunch, we headed over to a leather market. Being that it was Sunday, the place was pretty much a ghost town. So, we headed back to Palermo to do some more shopping. Once again, Jo was able to find some more must have clothes. :) We stopped for ice cream near our place. Ice cream shops are everywhere. After shopping, [View Full Entry]

Our second day started off a bit late. Buenos Aires has a late night culture. We ended up getting home around 2 am on Friday night. Saturday morning we slept in and got up around lunch. We had lunch at a little French cafe (http://oroycandido.com.ar) recommended by Diego, Friday night's chef. It was a very cool place. Jo had a goat cheese dish and I had smoked trout. Great food. After lunch, we did a 6 hour shopping marathon. Jo scored a lot cool clothes and compared several nice bags for future purchase. Throughout the day, we stopped a few times [View Full Entry]

We arrived this morning to Argentina. After a fairly long taxi ride into the city, we found our apartment. It's a nice little one bedroom in Palermo Viejo, an up and coming part of the city. After getting the tour from our landlord, we explored the local neighborhood. We decided to grab a bite at Preferido de Palermo. Not being a very good Spanish speaker ended up costing us at this place. Josephine had the artichoke omelet and I thought I was getting a breaded veal cutlet that turned out to be 4 breaded veal cutlets. It sort of reminded me [View Full Entry]
