Many hours in the bus brought us to beautiful hotels vibrant cities and the most diverse yet stunning natural beauty I have ever seen. I appear to be allergic to charging camera batteries because after replacing a lost battery charger before departing I have now lost my camera battery. Thus this post is missing pictures f http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Morocco/Marrakech-Tensift-El-Haouz/Marrakech/blog-409600.html Casablanca Day Trip It has been a while since I have posted. Time is flying by. Right now I am in a hotel in Ourazazete and have plenty to fill everyone in on. I will try and get as much as possible posted before we leave. http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Morocco/Grand-Casablanca/Casablanca/blog-408671.html An afternoon la plage After class today Roger and I took a walk to the beach to meet some friends. We took the scenic route and I practiced my photography skills. It was definitely a tough decisions talk about two paths diverged but I am very excited for the next two yea http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Morocco/Rabat-Sal-Zemmour-Zaer/Rabat/blog-405686.html The first week of June The week has been pretty routine so far so I thought I would catch people up on what that means over hear. I am having a blast. It is constantly learning experience to be living in an Islamic country and getting used to the mix of semireligious overtones culture gaps and language barriers. We are living with families and I was very lucky to get paired with Roger Connaroe. He is my year at UVa http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Morocco/Rabat-Sal-Zemmour-Zaer/Rabat/blog-405526.html Weekend Trip Meknes Fez MoyenAtlas This weekend we traveled to the center of Morocco for a weekend full of activity. http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Morocco/F-s-Boulemane/Fes/blog-404369.html First Field Trip Rabat Here are pictures from the first field trip we took. They are from Tuesday May 26. Everything was impressive and interesting but I kept finding myself thinking of the learning process involved in a field trip. Middle school graduation marks the end of the field trip's golden years and I don't think I think this might have been my first field trip since high school. For the most part the pictu http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Morocco/Rabat-Sal-Zemmour-Zaer/Rabat/blog-404286.html The Past Three Days It's a good thing I am getting to this now because I am already forgetting things that happen each day. Monday was my first full day which now strangely seems routine. Roger and I woke up around 745 got ready and had a very French breakfast of baguette jelly and cafe au lait. Ahmine then drove us to Amideast because there was no way we were going to make the 20 minute walk and be there on http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Morocco/Rabat-Sal-Zemmour-Zaer/Rabat/blog-403014.html Four days in Part 1 Saturday 23 Sunday 24 Time flies when you're having fun and blog posts are slow to catch up. I will post this in three parts for those of you afraid of long paragraphs of text. The trip got off to a great start. Saturday my dad and I drove to New York for a 800 flight out of JFK. It was a nice weather for the drive and I made the bad idea of sleeping for most of it. I got to JFK with plenty of time. As I went throug http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Morocco/Rabat-Sal-Zemmour-Zaer/Rabat/blog-402658.html Arrival in Rabat I have arrived in Rabat. I flew out of JFK last night at 830 and got into Casablanca sometime around 600 am local. The flight itself was only six hours but you can take up subsequent grammatical errors with jet lag from one hour of sleep. Just had orientation at Amideast the school where we will be studying and am about to meet my host family. The city looks like an awesome place and I am http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Morocco/Rabat-Sal-Zemmour-Zaer/Rabat/blog-401685.html Predeparture night. Tomorrow begins my journey to Morocco. Today has been goodbyes and packing. At this point I am so close to departure that I am ready to dive in. Nervous yes prepared maybe ready to speak nothing but French for 6 weeks we'll find out soon enough. I've got my clothes books and electronics and from here I just follow directions. Tomorrow I drive with my dad to NY where I'll fly from JFK http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Virginia/Richmond/blog-401308.html
