Geez, seems like forever since my last message. First off however our Internet connections have been a bit hit or miss pluss I'm just lazy! We flew from Prague to Venice no probs. arriving in Venice we took a water taxi to San Marco square which is the major piazza in Venice. Talk about a confusing place - no cars or scooters, just tiny lanes going every which way. Pretty cool though as I have always wanted to see all the buildings just rising up from the maze of canals, islands and water. We spent 3 days traipsing around, a lot of shops and touristy stuff as well as the history. First night we were blowing €6 a beer so I starteddrinking red wine which is a lot cheaper. When we left Venice I hired a ... read more

Well we are finally off the river ship. We spent two days in Vienna which was pretty good. Apart from other things I went to where all the Hapsburgs are held in a crypt (read your European history on who the hell the Hapsburghs are!). 160 of them are right there, not buried or in coffins all bricked up, but right infront of you in brass sarcophagi that you can touch. 2nd last night on the boat was the Captains Farewell Dinner. I was wondering why not the last night, but found out when I couldn't get out of bed the next day! We went to Budapest for the last two days on the boat. Pretty cool city and amazing to actually be in Hungary and Eastern Europe. Travelling from there to Prague was also interesting ... read more

Just made it to Vienna this morning. Last few days have been showery and cool but today is warm and sunny. Had a great few days on the Danube still visiting a lot of historical places. Went to the Czech Republic to a small forgotten medievil town called Cesky Krumlov. It was awesome as it is still as it was hundreds of years ago. Also interesting was as soon as you crossed the border from Germany to Czech everything changed. The roads, houses fields, everything was run down and crappy left over from the communist days. Yesterday I climbed up to an old castle ruin in Austria at a place called Durstein. It was the place Richard the Lionhearted was imprisoned back in 1192. Fantastic stuff! I'm still having trouble remembering everything we do as they ... read more

Hi to anyone who wants to listen! We boarded our ship the Amerverde in Amsterdam last Friday. The boat was commissioned last year and everything is first class. The food is unbelievable with no shortage. Wine and beer unlimited at dinner time so consequently I can't report much about the nights as I don't remember them! We travel either during the day or at night but theyalways have organized tours with exceptional guidesevery day. There is absolutely nothing we can complain about with APT who we booked this with. We left Amsterdam on Saturday and it was cold and wet. Sailed down into the Rhine Valley and the temperature shot up to mid 20's and beautiful sunshine. Been to so many towns it has just been great. The Germans certainly like their beer so my forecast ... read more

Been in Holland for the last week. Rick and Marianne picked us up from Amsterdaam central station and took us to Edam. Yes it is a big cheese factory! We've managed to have coffee wherever we go although I have slipped in quite a few Heinikens and Amstels. Had a piss up party on Friday night with more of Leanne's cousins. They are all a lot older and 3 brothers gave us a great night. We've eaten smoked eel which amazingly was pretty good. Weather has been ok but pretty cold. Have been into central Amsterdam where Rick and I were allowed to go shopping in the red light area. (NOT!) Stayed with Angelique another cousin and yesterday had dinner at Loeks. Bastard hasn't changed, no grey hair and he will turn 50 next February. He ... read more

Just left Paris an hour ago. We had a great time seeing most of the main tourist attractions; Awful Tower, River Insane, Notre Damn, Arc De Triumph etc. Great food, plenty to eat and drink. The Frenchies were very nice, no problems with them being arrogant or not trying to speak English. Relatively expensive in Paris so I'm hoping Amsterdam turns out cheaper We caught the train 1st class this morning. Takes about 3 hours but is an excellent way to travel. I'm writing this blog with free wi fi. Just been looking up a few Dutchwords to help me in Holland, I can now say; " Two beers please you piece of shit!" Keep reading! Trev... read more

Sorry Pat, Have had trouble logging in to the site. Now I'm going offmemory for the week. Got to Dubais where it wasabout 30 everyday but quite comfortable. If you like a beer, DON'T come here cause you'll die of thirst or go broke quenching one! Unbelievable all the buildings and the money. Paul Stafford visited us for aday, he lives in Abu Dhabi and we got pissed. I got food poisoning after that and was pretty dodgy on the plane to Paris. Paris is so surreal! So compact in the inner city and all the famous spots are really there. Went to the palace of Versailles today and was blown away by its magnificence and size. Also it gets about 100,000 people visiting per day. There's a lot of Frenchies in Paris all speaking French......surprise, ... read more
