There were many tears shed that day :) and now my german is nicht schlect!! looking forward to hearing all about your adventures in person!!

First, I am very fortunate to be able to share your experiences in the world, so I thank you for that. Second, did you ever notice that if you misspell the word "mentor" it ends up looking liking "menotaur", and there are some parallels. But only if you look for them. Third, I love ya kiddo and hope you are having a great journey. Miss ya! Paul

Great pictures of Angkor Wat Katy. I was amused as I was looking for my pictures of Angkor Wat and came across yours as we have the same surname. http://www.mawhitfield.com/holidays/cambodiaweb/index.html The Angkor Wat sunrise also sets the scene for the entrance to my website also : http://www.mawhitfield.com/ We went at a similar time of year to in late 2004. The build up was almost more atmospheric and exciting than the actual sunrise with all the people sitting on the relic on the inside of the entrance area waiting for the sunrise to happen. Keep snapping O :-)

Vietnam sounds wicked! - From: Good morning Vietnam! Shopping in Hoi An and cycling around town... raining in Hue
Hey Katy! Hope all is well! Too bad it's rainy where you are, but we're getting are fair share down here too! Actually, today wasn't so bad, one of the better days in a while! I'm just starting to recover from exam season, but it's coming up again, for which I am sorta in denial! Anyway, it sounds like you're having a BLAST, but that bike ride sounds like some kinda workout! WOOOOOOO! At least you got to see the beach afterwards! I'm sure that was rewarding! Can't wait to hear more stories! Take care! Stay safe!

sounds like fun - From: Good morning Vietnam! Shopping in Hoi An and cycling around town... raining in Hue
Katy, it sounds like you are having a wonderful time, and all of the experiences sound great. It is rainy seson here too, so I understand how that can put a damper on things. My mom is visiting, and we have not done many tourist things because of the rain, and my lack of time. Rememberance day is funny in countries that don't remember. It can come and go without a moments thought if you are not careful. But my mom and I observed a moment of silence together, and I mentioned it in church today, and we prayed for world peace as a church. Glad you are enjoying the food! You will have to teach people when you get back what you learned in cooking class!

Remembrance - From: Life and History in Phnom Penh-boat down the Mekong and arrival in Saigon/HCMC
Hey Katy! So glad to hear from you again! I love reading your stories and insights from across the globe! I must say, the thing that struck me the most was the Killing Fields. I think it's definitely important to acknowledge the past, because it makes us understand the present. And especially since Nov 11th in coming up, I think it's absolutely critical we remember those who lost their lives in any type of war, battle, or invasion. I should also say that I'm a little jealous about the food over there. I actually went out to dinner with a few friends last night, to the "Mongolian Grill," which was absolutely amazing! But I'm sure, that by physically being in that region, you the get that authentic taste! Can't wait to hear from you again! Take care, and all the best! Ryan

One-man Association - From: De Big Fish, Knockabout Day and good times in St. Georges
I love the concept of a one-man association. Thinking of starting one myself. Can't decide if it should be based on a Kabbalah meets Scientology religion or that Unicorn Breeding Centre I pitched to Dave Reiss. Anyway, regardless of the angle, there will be a collection box for sure. Am still enjoying the food content of your travelog. I totally respect your affiliation with people who own snack companies. That shows a strong sense of priorities. Have a great end of trip. I'm getting ready to shove off myself to Edmonton for three weeks. Jason's actor brother and his girlfriend are back crashing in my house upon their return from filming a CTV Travel Channel show called "Pleasure Zones." That's all I'm going to say for now, Katy. I'll just let you ponder that one for a bit. Once again, all of this unfortunately, is fact. I don't make any of this up. Bon retour! Gladys

I don't know if you can see these comments, Katy, but I'll try anyway. I seriously think that I could eat chicken and chips for a couple of weeks straight but I know that it's tough when it's blazing hot every day. Jason used to drag me to McDonald's when we were in China. Imagine eating an Extra Value Meal in 40-degree heat. Disgusting. we've borrowed your steel drum and have started the circuit north to cottage country to bring some cheer to uncle marty...then a week of cottage rebuilding is in the works...maybe some prayer too...who needs a vacation when you can have a "stay"cation!??!! Glad you're having fun..as you can see we are too!

Hey, Katy... Sounds like the journey there was amazing and you've got an amazing group of people to hang out with for the next few weeks. Remember that your mission for this trip (in addition to saving the world) is to make me thoroughly jealous with your stories of action and adventure. And my mission is to ward off any chance of you getting homesick so here it is...Samuel took a poo in his bath last night. What is THAT????!
