Good Day! So just a short update for you guys on whats been happening... We've been busy applying for jobs and getting things like Medicare and Tax Numbers completed. Last Friday we went to an International Rules match (which is a combo of soccer, rugby, and Aussie footy) at this MASSIVE stadium called the MCG. Then we headed over to the Crown Casino to walk around and check it out. Its massive too, and only about 5 minutes from our place. Then on Saturday we went out to a local pub, and then down to St. Kilda to check out a night club. St. Kilda is great! It compares to Whyte Ave in Edmonton, except it is about 100 times crazier!! So we are finally in our BRAND NEW PLACE!!!! Completely loving it here!! It's in Port Melbourne, and we're living in an apartment building. Its a newish building, we're on the 2nd floor, and there is a pool. The good thing is that our patio goes right out on to the pool, so we don't have to walk through the hallways with wet swimmers on! We have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms: perfect for guests! Today we went to Ikea and bought a whole bunch of new furniture: bedroom suite, spare bedroom stuff, lamps, kitchen stuff, dining room table. Hey everyone!!! So we've completed our first week in Australia. We arrived last wednesday, and are currently staying with Rohan and Leanne (Leanne is Trent's cousin.) The past week has been kind of a whirlwind! We've made numerous trips in to the city (right now we're about an hour outside of Melbourne city,) to find a place to live, go shopping, and visit with Trent's sister, Karyn. Karyn is wonderful and so knowledgeable about Melbourne, so she helped us in our search for a home. We found a place to live in Port Melbourne. Its a 2nd story apartment with a pool, but it's great because we have our own entrance, and underground parking. We signed the lease yesterday and we're both SUPER EXCITED!! So....Our flight got delayed out of LA to the Cook Islands because the Captain got sick. Hmm...So now we fly out at 5am tomorrow morning (Monday) and have to stop in Hawaii for a few hours to pick up a NEW captain. They put us up in the Sheraton Hotel and gave us $100 to order room service, so we ordered EVERYTHING on the entire menu. Literally..wings, burgers, milkshakes, salad. This screws us up though because we had a connecting flight in Rarotonga that we'll miss now. They are supposed to put us on a new flight in Rarotonga though... We'll see what happens! Wish us luck.. Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas!! Well sort of fabulous... Vegas went well. It's a pretty crazy place.. money is everywhere. It's amazing how much is spent on everything in the entire city. After a tearful goodbye to our families at the airport on Monday morning, we flew direct to Las Vegas. We had a bit of a struggle getting out of the airport as we had a ridiculous amount of extremely heavy luggage. We managed though, and took a cab to our hotel, The Las Vegas Hilton. We checked in and then went out to explore the city. LOTS OF WALKING!!!!!! We walked throught almost every hotel on the strip, looked in sooo many shops, and and went to the pool for a bit.
