| 16th October 2009 Steve Mac | Cool Pics - From: Marble - McClure Pass - Montrose, CO I love Colorado. You captured the colors very well. |
| 29th September 2009 Mary Jo | hey - From: Rocky Mountain National Park BEAUTIFUL shots! Too bad you missed Pike's Peak - will you try again on the way home or are you going back a different way? I was there once when I had to go to Denver for training. There's a beautiful spot at the base (you probably already know about it!) - called Garden of the Gods - if you're back by there. Lots of rocks - Frank would love it!! |
| 27th September 2009 Mary Ward | WOW - From: Rocky Mountain National Park Wow, Deb, I was thrilled to just now receive the auto-notice that you were posting to your blog. So glad you're out there!! Incredible. CO was a favorite of mine, and how could it not be anybody's? Love the posts. |
| 30th January 2009 Travels in the Cozy Turtle | Chena Hot Springs - From: Chena Hot Springs, AK We didn't see the aurora at the Hot Springs, but at the North Pole which is north of Fairbanks. Chena Hot Springs is interesting, but not overwhelming. We didn't take advantage of anything but the hot springs so I really couldn't tell you if there is alot to do. I think there is a tour of an ice house. The good thing about the area is it is dark at night so the chances of seeing the aurora are better than in the middle of Fairbanks where there are lights and trees. |
| 13th January 2009 Elise | Would you recommend Chena Hot Springs? - From: Chena Hot Springs, AK We are going to Alaska at the end of this August (2009) for a 15 day cruisetour and will arrive a day before the tour starts in Fairbanks and were trying to decide whether or not to stay at Chena or just stay at the Princess in Fairbanks. We would love to catch even a little Aurora. Any recommendations? |
| 9th August 2008 Travels in the Cozy Turtle | Tracy Arm Fjord - From: Juneau Tracy Arm Fjord Sorry, can't help you. I honestly don't remember the name of the tour company we went on. Tracy Arm is more than an hour away from Juneau. It takes awhile to get there. |
| 6th August 2008 Jeanette McSherry | ? on excursion - From: Juneau Tracy Arm Fjord Gorgeous pictures. We want to take this excursion but it's not offered by our cruise. We have 10 hours in Juneau and the only excursion I can find is 10 l/2. Might you know any charters or independent companies that offer this? thank you |
| 5th June 2008 kimberly | quiet - From: Benbow Valley to lassen Volcanic National Park, California I have always loved the quiet when you are low in a forest and the trees buffer out non-organic noise. So lovely. Your photos seem to show numerous ferns? amongst the trees.....I love em. Shade dwellers like me :) |
| 3rd June 2008 Mary | WHOA! - From: Yosemite National Park, California Ansel Adams, watch out! |
| 3rd June 2008 Mary | Amazing - From: Mendocino to Benbow Valley, California I wish I could've been walking around with you in this town!! Absolutely beautiful. Hope you've had a wonderful time. I liked living vicariously through you this afternoon....:) |
| 29th May 2008 Kimberly | unique - From: Mendocino to Benbow Valley, California the shoreline view pic is great. Often you see mossy cliffs or really green cliffs like Ireland but I can't recall seeing pretty flowers dropping off to the ocean. |
| 26th May 2008 kimberly | - From: Yosemite National Park, California Your picture of clouds rest is just stunning! We didn't make it to Yosemite when we were in California but it's a definate the next time. |
| 19th May 2008 George Fohl | - From: Sequoia National Park, California Aren't those trees ENORMOUS?! It's hard to really get the idea about how big those really are until you're actually in front of one!!! |
| 19th May 2008 kimberly | - From: Cottonwood Arizona to Henderson, Nevada via West Rim of theGrand Canyon Todd really wants to do the skywalk. I'm with you Deb....not into the heights thing. I'll just wave and let him go on :) |
| 12th May 2008 Betty Morgan | Homesick - From: Sedona, Arizona I just caught up with your blog and love your beautiful photos. It reminds me so much of the area where I grew up in Colorado. I was in Old Town Albuquerque 14 yrs. ago this week and it looks just the same. |

| 8th May 2008 RSweeney | Movie set - From: Gallup NM to Canyon de Chelly AZ Ever see the Gregory Peck movie, McKenna's Gold? It was shot in Canyon de Chelly... very dramatic, but the movie screen can't hold a candle to the real thing. |
| 8th May 2008 George Fohl | Great pictures - From: Sedona, Arizona Wow, excellent pictures. Makes me want to play the lottery so I can quit my job and travel! |
| 7th May 2008 Travels in the Cozy Turtle | Dinner in Albuqueque - From: Oklahoma-Texas-New Mexico Thanks for the info on food and birds and the generous invitation to meet your Dad and Stepmom, unfortunately we don't check messages often and we're thru the area before you know it. | 4th May 2008 Shannon | Home - From: Albuquerque to Gallup, New Mexico Looking at your pictures makes me feel homesick! |
| 30th April 2008 Shannon | another suggestion - From: Oklahoma-Texas-New Mexico Okay...I know I already bombarded you with things to do and see in NM...but if you have a chance, another place you both would really like is Bosque del Apache. It's a bird sanctuary near Socorro, NM. (And the Owl Cafe in Socorro has great green chile cheeseburgers.) (ok...I'm making my own mouth water...and I already ate dinner!!!) |
| 30th April 2008 Shannon | Dinner in Albuquerque - From: Oklahoma-Texas-New Mexico Hey Debbie and Frank - not sure how long you're in NM, but if you'd like a super yummy NEW Mexican meal, may I recommend a restaurant called El Pinto? And, if you're up for company, my dad and stepmom (Darrell and Karla) would love to have dinner with you guys most any time. Their phone # at home is 505-296-4626. Anyway...the restaurant is very good. And if you don't like spicy, you can ask for things sans green or red chile or you can ask for mild green or red chile. And you can always ask for the chile on the side (that's what I would recommend if you're not sure about the spiciness). Also, make sure to try some sopapillas while you're in NM. |
| 30th April 2008 kimberly | gps - From: Tennessee-Arkansas-Oklahoma sounds like you're off to a great start. I always love the beginning. Todd always laughs at me because I really believe vacation air smells different. Our GPS is named Ellen (magellen) hehehe |
| 29th April 2008 Randy & Terri | stopping? - From: Oklahoma-Texas-New Mexico Aren't you guys stopping anywhere? You have missed a lot of really nice places and interesting sights. You are retired. You can stop as long as you want whereever you want! Besides, when you stop, we might get some really nice pictures taken for those of us left back home. |
| 29th April 2008 Betsy | - From: Oklahoma-Texas-New Mexico Greetings from the Outer Banks. Ivan and I have been enjoying out time at the beach so far. I decided to spend a few hours at a coffee shop with wireless internet available and thought I'd check to see how your trip was going. Looks like it is going well. I'll follow along. Take care. |
