I can hardly believe how quick six months have gone by. It's only a couple of days now until i fly back to Heathrow. It's pretty scary thinking about going back, facing reality and getting back into the real world. :( It's also exciting to know i'll see everyone again and i have the prospect of all the new things that will be in my life. Anyway, enough about coming back as i've had loads of great experiences since i last wrote. I was in Vancouver last time and then spent a few days in Whistler in a log cabin/hostel with [View Full Entry]

Hi, I'm finally in the last continent i'll travel to and have only three weeks of adventure time left. It's pretty scary to think i need to get back to real life soon. When i last wrote i was in San Francisco and i finally tore myself away from there and got the overnight bus down to Las Vegas. It was a pretty awesome place. I was surprised at how cheap the hotels were there, it was cheaper than a hostel at 17 dollars per night for my own double room with a huge bed. So for the first time in [View Full Entry]

I'm currently in san francisco and absolutely loving it here. A short stop has turned into a really long stay as I can't bring myself to leave. I was last in Santa Barbara and had a good couple of days there. It was a small quiet town and I spent the days on the beach and the evenings at the student nights with the girls from my hostel and 3 dollar cocktails. Then I got the bus up to Santa Cruz where I had some fun at their boardwalk funfair. I arrived at San Francisco last week and it's been such [View Full Entry]

Hi, So I've survived Mexico! Having spent a couple of nights in Meixco city we got the bus down to Acapulco. We found a cheap hostel and a nice posh hotel nearby that we snuck into in the day to lounge by the pool. So we spent the week on the beach and by the pool as there was not much else to do in the area and then got the bus back up to Mexico city to fly out from. By this point i was (and i never thought i'd say this) thoroughly sick of mexican food. There, Daisy and [View Full Entry]

Hi, I´ve had such a great couple of weeks i hardly know where to start. I met up with Daisy at Lima airport and we spent a few days in Lima before our tour started. We explored the area for a couple of days and took a daytrip to see the Nazca lines by plane. They´re shapes in the ground that the incas made, noone´s exactly sure why. Some have speculated that it was a signal to outer space, some say it´s based on astronomy and some think it was from wierd drug induced visions. Whatever, they´re there for, they are [View Full Entry]

What a hectic few days! It started on the journey from Sydney to Santiago. I travelled across Sydney on public transport, checked out of my hostel and on to my flight (which was alramingly difficult, she mentioned things like´can´t find you a seat,´ ´flight too full´ and ´have to put you on standby´ - probably just to scare me -before allocating me a seat) before i went to the bathroom to realise i had a huge streak of toothpaste down my nose. I´ve given up trying to work out how i get myself into these situations. Then there was the 16 [View Full Entry]

I've now moved on from New Zealand and back to Australia for a few days before my flight from Sydney to Santiago. In Melbourne, i met up with Nikki. She'd checked in to the same hostel as me, which resembled an old peoples home, so it didn't take long to find her. We spent a few hilarious days enjoying the bars and nightlife in Melbourne and toasting ourselves at the beach in St Kilda. We made a lot of friends at our hostel and got very well aquainted with some new drinking games and the local nightlife. After Nikki moved on [View Full Entry]

I'm very sad to come to the end of my New Zealand adventure. It's been great here from start to finish. When i last wrote i was in Queenstown. From there i moved northwards and spent a night on a farm near Kurow, stoppping to see the famous moeraki boulders on the beach on the way. On the farm I went tramping (walking in the rough country for those that don't know - not picking up undesirables) for hours around the hills there. The woman that ran the farm, Kaye, told me i'd be fine so long as i didn't go [View Full Entry]

I think i was in Queenstown when i last wrote. From there i took a 4 day bus journey to visit all the southern parts of the south island, which returned me back to Queenstown so i'm back here again now. I've been travelling on the magic bus so far but spent the last four days on the Kiwi experience bus, which is generally for younger travellers. I was trying to be young and cool but being the oldest on the bus i earnt the nickname 'Grandma'. Cheeky young sods, they should respect their elders. First stop was Dunedin, which isn't [View Full Entry]

I'm still really enjoying New zealand. There seems a nice mix of cities, adventure sports and lots of spectacular scenery. After my last entry i spent a few days in windy Wellington and it certainly lived up to its name. I saw the sights here, rode the cable car, went to the galleries and museums and did a geeky lord of the rings tour to see a lot of the places that they did the filming. I also took a day trip further up the coast to see some of the coastline and beaches. I then took a boat to the [View Full Entry]
