| 21st November 2008 kylie fludder | weather's nice?! - From: A Spanner in the Works STAY IN NZ if you want nice weather!!! My gosh the weather is atrocious here- Brisbane has been declared a disaster zone officially! It's insane. The storms have been so bad the last 3 nights there's been up to 30cm of rain dropped in a few places over a few hours leading to mass flooding. There's houses completely destroyed or missing rooves esp in suburbs like the GAP. Stay in NZ if the weather is nice. Who thought we'd be able to catch up again so soon? Gimme a call when you get back and we'll do lunch |
| 20th July 2008 Rebecca | Brewhouse of joy - From: Dublin Shenanigans How awesome is the Guiness Brewhouse?!?! When I went we were only allowed 1 free pint of Guiness... Mind you when I got back to Australia I noticed a pint glass with the Guiness logo on it had magically appeared in my bag wrapped up in a jumper. And the view was awesome even if it's not a completely clear day :) |
| 15th June 2008 Erin | Awwww hun! - From: How not to climb a mountain - my adventure on Mt Snowdon Chalk it down to a story to tell the grandkiddies ( and a way of either working off bad karma or earning good karma!) At least the lovly accents would soothe it a little |
| 14th June 2008 Syanna | Oh man... - From: How not to climb a mountain - my adventure on Mt Snowdon I hate days like that. I'm so sorry! Wow, so off to Ireland huh? That is pretty sweet. Better luck to ya! |
| 9th June 2008 TravellingHan | - From: One ticket to Llamedos - erm, Llanberis - please Yeah, like I'm gonna ask everyone to hug me! You could have at least taught me some USEFUL Welsh!! |
| 8th June 2008 Owen | - From: One ticket to Llamedos - erm, Llanberis - please I told you just to use Cwtch all the time and you would have been fine. Did you listen?? Anyway, the Northern Welsh aren't the best Welsh in the world. Unlike us at Cardiff. Enjoy the Irish...sure you will... ;-) |
| 3rd June 2008 Bec | Oh so so jealous... - From: Oxford ... finally J.R.R Tolkien and C.S. Lewis and beer!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!! *is dripping with jealousy*. I've just had to educate my Mum about the Chronicles of Narnia and the fact that just because they've brought out The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and are about to bring out Prince Caspian doesn't mean that these are the first to chronologically. Anyway, finally managed to squeeze some time into my busy schedule to read Good Omens, very awesome!! I was up until 2am one going "shit, must sleep soon, uni in the morning... but must keep reading!" Anyway, tonight is not a night for staying up too late... Main thesis stuff is due in less than a fortnight!! *hugs and love* |
| 30th May 2008 Bec | 5/12ths through '08 - From: I've fallen in love Yay for you :) Hope stonehenge wasn't as horribly tourist as people make it out to be. It was a fantastically wet and miserable day (especially my 10min walk in the rain to uni) so don't worry, you're not missing any awesome weather here at the moment, it's just as dreary as what I remember of London in Winter. |
| 18th May 2008 TravellingHan | - From: The week that was Heya hon. Glad to hear you watched Bollywood with Erin. I watched some today with Desh. Sorry about your car. How's the thesis? |
| 18th May 2008 Bec | Wonderful Oz - From: The week that was Hey Han :) Good to hear the homesickness is less of an issue. Not much been happening back here... Watched Don with Erin on Saturday night, so I've had my first taste of Bollywood. And to top off my brilliant week some idot ran into my car while it was parked and now I can't use the driver side door and have to crawl across the passenger seat to get in. Buggers didn't even leave a sorry note. Anyway, I'm going to go to bed and try to sleep off my grumpyness. *hugs* Keep enjoying your travels hun. |
| 12th May 2008 kylie | What an eye opener - From: Hostel dramas, or, "This place is better than a soap opera" hey han, so glad you posted this link on facebook as i have been wondering how all is going for you. i have found your tales both hilarious and somewhat nerveracking as i am going to be doing the solo travel thing myself soon...eeekk... sounds like ur having fun though and im looking forward to doing scotland with you! |
| 12th May 2008 Bec | - From: Hostel dramas, or, "This place is better than a soap opera" You definately meet some... interesting... people in hostels. I saw some oddballs in my travels and heard some weird stories but I reckon the crazy Italian chick probably takes the cake! Hope you're adjusting to the weather, we're still under crazy water restrictions back here in Brisvegas and the static electricty has been nutso. |
| 7th May 2008 TravellingHan | - From: Mastering the art of sucking it up Also, I'm here on a two year working holiday visa. but that doesn't give you an excuse not to come to London this weekend! |
| 7th May 2008 TravellingHan | - From: Mastering the art of sucking it up Hey JJ. Yep, climbed all the way to the top of St Paul's, with photographic evidence to prove it. Glad you think travelling by myself is a good idea. I was beginning to think it wasn't, but now I've got friends here it's not looking too bad. |
| 7th May 2008 TravellingHan | - From: Mastering the art of sucking it up womanface. I am staying in the city this weekend almost solely to meet up with you. So get your arse to London! Do you feel like paying £5 to see King Lear at Shakespeare's Globe with me? Or just hanging out or something? |
| 7th May 2008 miss bec | - From: Mastering the art of sucking it up so, mole face. let me know when you are free to meet up. how long are you over here for? if you need to get away from the london smog, sarf end is pretty and rural-esque. ok, so it's not rural, but it's nice. x |
| 7th May 2008 john john | - From: Mastering the art of sucking it up Han! I didn't even know you were going os... or maybe I did... either way I didn't remember. I'm so green cause I didn't get to do a tour of or see a play at the globe. Please have a pint of John Smith's for me. Did you climb all the way to the top of St Paul's? You should check out a show at the West End too. And travelling on you're own is good for us 'cause it makes for a better blog. |
| 7th May 2008 Bec | - From: Mastering the art of sucking it up *sends hugs and happy thoughts to take away the homesickness... oh, and much chocolate!* |
| 7th May 2008 Adam | ! - From: Mastering the art of sucking it up you should, stop being stupid, king lear kicks arse and its dirt cheap! They only run stuff there for a few months of the year! You're an idiot! WEEEEEEEEE I figured you weren't getting enough abuse over there so I'd give you an extra special dose. |
| 7th May 2008 TravellingHan | - From: Mastering the art of sucking it up They've got King Lear running at the moment. I was thinking about going on Saturday - only costs £5! |
| 7th May 2008 Erin | - From: Mastering the art of sucking it up Oh hun! Wish I could be there with you! Say howdy to Desh for me, and give him a hug! If you get him drunk enough he becomes all bouncy! Have fun bootiful! E |
| 6th May 2008 Adam | pfft - From: Mastering the art of sucking it up You're being a wanker not a tosser! Way to forget australian slang already retard!!!!! Have they got plays running in the globe at the moment. I really wanted to see one there :( |
| 6th May 2008 Bec | - From: Up and Down Well I'm glad you're having fun seeing the sites (I think I meant sights, but both kinda fit)!!! I got sick of London pretty quickly too, I think I only spent about 5 days there all up but it was nearly enough to see all the things I wanted. Thesis is starting to majorly suck again but the consolation for having to start again in week 10 is that I get a 2.5 week extension. Anyway, missing you heaps!!! Keep having a good time seeing the world, and don't worry about us back here with our vegemite ;) *hugs* |
| 4th May 2008 Erin | - From: Well, I expected an adventure ... Told ya you'd love it! Lucky bugger - I'm so jealous my eyes are turning green! But I'm glad you found a coat. Turns out it's colder there than over here! Hugs!!! Ez |
| 1st May 2008 Bec | Time zone clash - From: Thoughts before leaving Thanks for the text at silly o'clock Han, I was actually awake when I got it since I was up until 6am working on thesis stuff. An hours sleep then up to catch a train to uni, blah! Anyway, hope you got through passport control ok, I remember feeling like I was getting the 3rd degree when I first flew into London, it was like a round of 20 Qs. Second time coming through was a breeze though :) Looking forward to hearing about your shenanigans on foreign soil ;) Bec xox |
