We did write blog entries while on this trip, but yeah, we accidentally deleted them so, here is a brief overview via our itinerary. At some stage I'm sure we'll get around to writing up something more about the trip! Day 1: Meet at Dover/Folkestone in the morning (time and exact location will be confirmed with your joining instructions) for the crossing and journey by coach through France and Belgium into Germany, arriving at your overnight hotel accommodation in time for your included three-course evening meal. Day 2: Depart the hotel after breakfast and continue through Germany and i [View Full Entry]

We had considered a weekend in the Cotswolds for Andrew's parents last weekend here in the UK but a look at the prices and day trips were the go instead. After a day in Horsham on the Saturday - where there was a French festival on, cheese tastings and music we ventured to the Bluebell Railway on Sunday. The Bluebell Railway is in Sussex and "was the UK's first preserved standard gauge passenger railway, re-opening part of the Lewes to East Grinstead line of the old London Brighton & South Coast Railway in 1960. Since then it has developed into one [View Full Entry]

Back to Brighton! This time to take mum and dad, who have never been there. Have a stroll through the lanes and then along the pier. Brighton is great, love the place. Finished with lunch in one of the old pubs. This was to be the last of the sightseeing with mum and dad as they fly back to Oz shortly. [View Full Entry]

Back to Portsmouth. Enjoyed it last time so went back down to Portsmouth taking mum and dad to see the historic dockyard area as well. Full day again. Had a cruise around (did this last time also) on the ferry as well - gives you a bit of background and history on the ships. The Mary Rose was the ship I was really interested in seeing, it is still being restored, means it is being constantly sprayed with some wax like mixture I believe that after quite a few years will leave it able to hold its shape once its been [View Full Entry]

Would you guess, another day off work! Decided on a trip to Deal for the day. Somewhere none of us had been so mum, dad and I went down for the day (Andrew had to work). Had a look round Deal Castle first then into the town for some lunch. [View Full Entry]
