Okay, so automatically you are thinking I am a dirty pig. Maybe you are appalled at my subject line, maybe intrigued? Maybe both?? Allow me to explain. So begins day 2 in Key West, FL (a.k.a. paradise). The last time I wrote it was 5am and I was heading back to bed. A short 2 1/2 hours later I was up and ready to start the day. But how was Mel? I had vague memories of a sleep walking Mel climbing into bed around 3:00am with a granola bar in her 1/2 closed mouth. I am a light sleeper - partially [View Full Entry]

I must've been so excited I was in Florida that I woke up at 6:52am this morning. You might think I would've been exhausted since I went to bed around 3:30am but the truth is - I was rejuvenated and eager to get a move on it. Our hotel room at The Renaissance Marriott hotel in Fort Lauderdale/Plantation was so nice and comfortable that 3 hours sleep on the bed felt like 7!! Mel got up soon after. I was hoping she was feeling better but unfortunately she was not. And if it's even possible - her throat was slightly worse! [View Full Entry]

Wow, day one of our escape to Florida and already so much has happened. Prior to arriving here in gorgeous Fort Lauderdale there had been lesbian drama, a mad rush to fix my disheveled hair, word that "Annabelle the Cow" from Jock’s Farm (Where Mel's horse shacks up) was sold to the milk factory, the cleansing of the deadly cat litter, the realization that Melanie has an otherworldly head cold (and that I am 14.3 minutes away from catching it full blown), a quick dinner with the mamas (who found part of a fossilized turkey breast in their sandwich), a trek [View Full Entry]

Provincetown, MA is the "gay & lesbian" American Dream. It is white picket fences. Fresh cut grass. Beautiful flowers. A small town village atmosphere. Friendly locals and tourists. The corner grocery shops. The town bakeries. Kids playing in their yards. People walking their dogs. Locals and visitors riding bikes. People flying kites. People fishing. Kayaking. Canoeing. Lounging lazaliy in a boat. Sunning on a beach. Having lunch on the pier. Yes. Provincetown is like the gay suburbs -- however -- it is a suberb atmosphere with a "wilder" side. Provincetown is loaded with gay & lesbian nightc [View Full Entry]

Hey everyone! This blog is long overdue! Ape and I have been home since June 26th! We flew back from Austin, TX. It was a peaceful, 3 1/2 hour smooth flight via Jet Blue (the best airline in the world)!!! Anyway, where do I begin? Hmm.... Oh my....Texas....Texas....Texas....Texaaaaaaaaaas. Yee-ha-yikes. When you are in Amarillo you don't really feel like you are IN TEXAS. Sure, the drive through the panhandle makes you feel like you should be in farmer jeans chewing wheat, but to actually BE in Amarillo you kinda feel like you are at some no-name city with lots of chain [View Full Entry]

You haven't experienced a thunderstorm until you've experienced one in the Texas Panhandle! No, we didn't see any flying cows (thank God) or tornados for that matter but we did experience winds up to 80 mph (strong enough to shake our car), torrential rain, and the most amazing lightning! The lightning was so beautiful. It lit up the entire sky. Some of the bolts even flashed sideways!! Let me start from the beginning... Last time I wrote we were in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Before we left we explored the historic downtown area and took lots of pictures. Santa Fe is [View Full Entry]

This blog starts out with something very important to everyone - bathroom stops. Have you ever noticed how there are friendly and not-so-friendly public bathrooms? Having been on a gazillion road trips this is something that I am very aware of. The other day, on our way through Arizona, we stopped at a dinky, in-the-middle-of-nowhere gas station. We were roughly 15-20 minutes from Kingman, AZ and, well, we had to go (you drink a lot in the desert)! Seeing any sort of pee-stop in the desert is like a mirage! Trumpets play and your eyes grow wide. As we pulled in [View Full Entry]

::Warning, this blog is VERY long:: My family is gay. Not in just that happy, giddy way -- I mean, they're gay, they're gay ---gaaaaaaaaaaay. Allow me to explain (by the way, those are lyrics to one of my songs). My mom and dad were married for 25 years and knew each other well before then. They had a lovely marriage and were (are) great friends. They divorced 10 years ago. To make a long story short, they BOTH came to the conclusion that they were...well....better off as FRIENDS shall I say. For many people it takes years to realize who [View Full Entry]

I have come to the conclusion that it is next to impossible to take a decent, normal photo in a casino. I must've tried 1,000+ times to get some nice photos yesterday at the casino's we visited, but for some reason I just couldn't get the camera setting's right. So -- I dedicate this blog to bad pictures and special effects! LOL! For each photo viewed, you can be assured it was taken at least 10 different times and the color was fooled around with so that the entire image wouldn't appear black. ANYWAY - now to the inside scoop! I [View Full Entry]
