Unbelievable
That is just unbelievable. All this internet stuff makes the world just about small enough for me to live in it.

Nice one!
Mate, I really liked this one. And that's not because I'm biased about how great Australia is (which I am), or because I like hearing positive affirmations about things that make people happy (which I do), but because it was funny, interesting and honest. You're sharing life experiences, insight, knowledge and your endless enthusiasm for adventure, and I dig it. Keep writing! Thanks buddy.

sportisglobal... not global
Toobz, I can confirm Sportisglobal does not work from Kazakhstan. This is doubly annoying because you know how much I love sport... and the amount you hammer on about your blog gets me all excited, every time!! If only there was some sophisticated way to convey my dissapointment, perhaps using some loanwords, yet simultaneously acknowledging my helplessness in this situation!! Ahh well, such is life.

Keen
It's the people not the beer measures that matter. I'm sure the conversation is great fun and full of jovial banter.

Banking?
Gave me a good laugh after coming back late from a trip away. - you're definitely not driving any of our cars when you come back here - we're going to employ you as a driver when we come over for the wedding - can confirm toddlers are capable of saying "duvet" so agree with you completely on the whole doona thing - finally, always thought you found the English banking system a bit of a mystery, don't think you stand a chance in Oz! xxx

5 things you like about oz...
Very funny mate. However,... I can't help but feel that this entry focuses a tad more on the negative aspects of life in the great land down under, than on the positives. Whilst I admit that every point you raised is valid (and many more spring to mind... the many misplaced road signs drove me mental!), I can't help but think of how Aussies fondly refer to us as 'Whinging Poms'. So, how about 5 things you like about oz? ps. apologies for any punctuation error's ;) pps. love the sport blog

Laughed out loud
Translations of Aussie words made me laugh out loud, BTW the zucchini and eggplant things are not exclusively Aussie, also Canadian/American. Banking was a thing that often frustrated my Canadian friends when they lived here - it never makes sense when it's not how you do it at home! If you're after suggestions, I'm sure you could write something entertaining on the subject of planning a wedding, although maybe that should wait until you are really in the thick of it? x

Follow the dream
I am a big believer in following the dream and not giving up on it just because it might be difficult or might not work out. You might not see my job as something other than office drudgery but in order to do what I really wanted to do I had to take the risk of setting up on my own with zero experience and just a couple of contacts when the sensible thing to do would have been to "get a job". I also discovered that a 1st class degree and an MA were not enough to get me to where I wanted to be so had to do more study by correspondence. We are blessed to have parents who have been willing to support our pursuit of our dreams and they supported me as I started out. It took me 6 months to be financially independent and following that I was not earning anywhere near what my friends were earning and was often short of work. But the result is that I get to do a job I love (most of the time), have variety in my work and be in control of my own time. Pursuing the dream is not the easy option and requires determination and dedication, probably more in your case than mine. But the tricky thing is identifying what the dream is and the best way to achieve it and still be what you call a functioning member of society at the same time - a balance not an opt out. Hope you can find it x

AKA 'Paul the Geek'
An enjoyable read! Jess points out though that you should really have more sex though hahaa (she won't appreciate me telling you that but then again she's only being 'honest'!). I can of course relate to such obsessions, though my sporting knowledge doesn't extend to such obscurities! Reading your blog reminded me how much I missed our sporting chats and how I quizzed your knowledge over a few trads! I do get carried away looking at the wikipedia tennis grand slam stats when I should be doing other far less interesting things like..er looking for a new job/career! My latest interest, especially after his completion of a career slam at only 24 is, can Nadal be as great or even greater than Federer?? He's got the edge on him at the moment with slams won at the same age but can he withstand injuries enough to go onto winning more? Personally I hope Federer can keep on winning slams into his 30s to reduce the chance of this happening. Maybe you could do a spreadsheet on the topic Paul...(if you haven't already)?
