We finished Macchu Pichu (which I will write about after I have finished the blog) and then moved on to Lima. We had a rather eventful journey when after three hours on the bus the policia boarded only to tell us we had to turn around and go back to Cuzco. It turned out that our driver had been involved in an accident earlier that day and was currently driving drunk. The bus was full of Israelis so you can only imagine the commotion when our full cama bus was taken to the bus station and our replacement bus was…semi cama! Personally I didn’t care that much but an army of 6 Israelis were bent on making themselves heard when they crowded around the Peruvian police shouting (in English). Surprise surprise their protest came to nothing ... read more

Although I am now safely and comfortably back in London, writing this from a computer that has an Internet connection not liable to cutting out every two seconds I still feel it is necessary to try and finish the blog I started in South America. I last left you in Bolivia, which as I stated was a brilliant country. Peru had its ups and downs, although there is a lot to do, it is because there is so much to do that it tends to get on your nerves. It’s extremely touristy which is not a bad thing in itself but the repercussions are a people who don’t really like you and just want to rip a quid outta ya. Crossing the border into Peru was a bit of a challenge, especially as we found out ... read more

Part two of the big blog day. All of Bolivia. You might want a cup of tea and a digestive for this one as it will probably be quite long. I feel Bolivia is proof of Gods existence, because only a drunken drugged up deity could conjur up a country as topologically retarted as Bolivia. Humans shouldn´t live there. One third of it is in horribly high altitude, the other third is desert and the last third is rainforest. This said Bolivia is probably the best country in South America for backpackers and will definitely be visited by me again. It chews you up and spits you out but all you want to do is go back for seconds as this is a mad crazy and exhilirating country. Also it bare cheap. We arrived in Bolivia ... read more

I have been absent from the blog for about a month now so I thought I would take a day out in Cuenca to merk the blog and try and bring you guys up to date. Last time I wrote about South America was when I was talking about B.A. which if memory serves correctly we just got fucked, spent money and shunned the cultural side of the city. This trend pretty much continues until Bolivia. After B.A. we visited 3 other places in Argentina; Mendoza, Cordoba and lastly Salta before crossing the border at Tupiza. We went to B.A. bus station with the idea of going to Cordoba, though when queing for tickets rather hung over we had the bright idea to fuck Cordoba and go to Mendoza. We heard there was a wine festival ... read more

After leaving Asuncion we decided to descend onto Santa Fe, a small town near Rosario where the Argentinian constitution was signed, we got there at 2 o clock in the morning and slept in the bus station until sunrise. It rains a lot in South America and Santa Fe was no exception. We woke up to see queues of people waiting for taxis, we thought this was odd as usually you don´t have to wait for a taxi outside a bus station. We went to investigate and saw the streets. Santa Fe had temporarily become a river. Still in the bus station we said...fuck this lets go to Rosario. Rosario is a medium size town in Argentina described as the "cleaner greener Buenos Aires". We left Rosario bus station and we knew we were in Argentina. ... read more

This entry should be a little shorter, luckily for Guy, as we were only in Paraguay for 4 days. I missed out chunks of Brazil but it is so difficult trying to tell you about absolutely everything so I had to cut out bits. Unfortunately I missed out an important part of the Rio story which Hal and Dom were not best pleased about. You have to understand that when travelling after football, women, music and drugs bowel movement is probably the most talked about subject. I was lucky enough to get the shits half way through the favela tour. I was just walking merrily down the favela and soon realised...I had to run to the tour guide explain my embarassing situation and he got me to the nearest toilet, in the favela. Worst of all ... read more

Almost a month into our trip and we still haven´t started our blog, so I thought I would sit down, take time out of Buenos Aires busy schedule and write some stuff down before I forget. First things first, Mum this isn´t going to be very parent friendly, if you need some help understanding slang terms use www.urbandictionary.com and you taught me to always tell the truth...so I am just abiding by house rules. Although we are in B.A. I can´t be bothered to write about Argentina or Paraguay just yet so this is only about the three weeks in Brazil. Me and Hal started in Rio, we arrived late at night me being terrified of the oncoming four months. Once we arrived at the hostel it was all a bit surreal, me and Hal in ... read more
