Not much new to report here. We went to the bar two nights ago, a place that Joey used to go to with some craft beers. We had a couple there and the alcohol content was so strong I got a pretty solid buzz and when we went the next bar I got drunk quickly. The bar was called Wilkenny and it’s a popular place here in Bariloche for tourists and locals. We got there at like 2am and there were many, many hot girls there, though they all appeared to be around the age of 20 which I am not complaining about however it makes a man feel old. We did some dancing and Joey and Brett had some moderate success, I however was too fucked up and had to take myself out of the ... read more

We started our trek towards the mountain and the Refugio (the place high up on the peak where hikers can stay and cook and have a warm place to sleep) around 11am. We wanted to get going a little earlier than that however as usual we were kind of tired and sluggish and didn’t do too much towards getting going. We waited for the bus for about a half hour until I asked where we should go to catch the bus and we were told that it was four blocks away from where we had been sitting like idiots for the last half hour! So we made our way down there and waited another forty minutes or so for the bus which finally came to take us to Villa Catedral, which is the jump off point ... read more

We arrived in Bariloche, Argentina around 2pm and the weather was noticeably colder than we’ve been used to. I had to put my winter hat on and everyone at the bust station was wearing coats and scarves. When we were coming in on the bus the first thing I noticed and immediately said to Brett was how beautiful the scenery was and honestly, this may be the most beautiful place I have ever been in my life. The mountains are vast and huge and covered in snow. The city itself is set on a lake that is surrounded by mountains on all sides as well as forest and the air is just cleaner and easier to breath here. We took a cab from the bus station to our hostel that Joey had booked for us; he ... read more

Joey, Aaron, Aldo, and I did visit another winery on Friday and it was a really fun time as always. We went back to Mr. Hugo and he gave us a discount because we were repeat customers, which was really nice. It wasn’t quite the same not having the Dutchies with us but since it was just the guys it was a different dynamic and certainly still a great time. We started out going to the farthest winery around and it was a 10K ride right off the bat. I was feeling good, not hung over, but still after sitting on a bus for an hour and then hopping on a bike for a 10K ride I was a little winded. Everyone admitted that they were feeling the same way so I didn’t feel so bad ... read more

So I haven’t written in a few days and with good reason, we’ve been on another BENDER!! It’s been a great last few days and I will now tell the tale that has been our time here in Mendoza. On Monday we went on a bicycle tour of some wineries here around the city. We had to take a bus 45 minutes outside of the city to get to the place where we rent the bikes, it was a place called Mr. Hugo’s and he gives you free wine before and after the tour. I went with Brett, Joey, Aaron, Aldo, Xenia, Marjolein, Doortje, and Rihanna. It was a great day. We started out at the chocolate and olive oil museum where we sampled some olive oils and some liqueurs. We got our choice of shots ... read more

So I blatantly lied to you and didn’t spend really any time sleeping yesterday. I Skyped with Candace and Dave and little Mason for about a half hour last night then I talked to Richard Merritt, the man himself, for some time and there was a free BBQ at the hostel so we decided to make some sangria. Everyone at the hostel was ready to eat pretty early because we were starving however everything was running on Chilean time and we didn’t end up eating until like midnight which wasn’t all that terrible actually. It was one of the girl’s birthdays in the hostel so we all went out to a bar that was near the hostel. It was alright but nothing too crazy and we got some late night food like always and headed back ... read more

We went out to the bar on April 7th or the night of April 7th rather and it was an amazing time. Joey, the Dutchies , Rhianna, and I all went to dinner at a nice little place near our hostel, Joey and I were so hungry since we really hadn’t eaten much all day and were at the beach in the sun. We wanted to try a local dish called Chorillana and the restaurant had it, but our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and like idiots we ordered the portion for 4 people and the two of us split it. The girls thought we were crazy! And in fact we were, it was so much food, we did some damage on it but not quite as much as we’d hoped and had to leave ... read more

So we did indeed go to the club and boy was it a wild night. It was Aldo’s birthday and he wanted to buy a bottle himself but I told him that I don’t care how they do it in France, when it’s a man’s birthday he doesn’t buy his own drinks so I tossed the old Bank of America Platinum Black card down with some serious buying power and we proceeded to dance the night away. I try to watch my money while travelling but as Mattcam put it, that’s just a reckless disregard for my money which is so true. There were a lot of really hot girls at this club and we were in VIP so I figured that we’d be able to talk to some of them or at least make some ... read more

Today we had to switch rooms in the hostel so I got up around 10am to pack my bag so we could leave however the nanny quit so the other room wasn’t ready for us. Joey and I had a coffee; I slept very poorly last night, had very bad dreams and lay awake for almost two hours in the middle of the night so I was pretty tired. We waited for a while around the hostel and I Skyped with a few people as we were waiting for our room, I had a turkey sandwich with avocado and tomatoes and cheese and then our room was ready so I took a shower finally and switched rooms. It’s our French friend Aldo’s birthday today so he, Joey, and I took a walk around the city and ... read more

Wow. The last few days have been craaaaaazzzzzy!!!!! The hostel party was wild. Everyone got totally hammered and had a great time. Our new Dutch friends are awesome and these girls are a riot. It was one of the girl’s birthday and they had cake and we all drank Pisco and were up super late drinking with probably 35 people or more here at the hostel. Probably more honestly. We had the great idea to go to the strip club with some girls from here at like 3am. It was pretty lame, the girls were gross and it was certainly not the awesome time we had at “Amanacer” in Peru, which coincidentally means, till the sun comes up! After the strip club we pretty much crashed around 4 or 5am. We got up around 11 and ... read more
