If you replace horses with Honda Scooters, the pace and style of life of suburban and rural Cambodia is similar to the Wild West. There are cows and chickens everywhere. When we were in Xian, riding our tandem bike around the city walls, we rode past several local Chinese people strolling along the wall. There was an old couple, looked to be n their 80’s . the old man was very tall and slender, looking kind of like Lurch from the Addam’s Famiy. Yesterday may ave been the best day of the trip so far. we woke up quite early, for our standards, around 8am and decided to test our hotel's patio restaurant for breakfast. I had a lovely bacon omelot and Alicen had a Cambodian fried rice, egg breakfast that she really loved. then we hopped in our tuk-tuk, which we rented for the whole day, of to Angkor, about a 20 minute ride. the weather was perfect, upper 70's and clear sky. we bought the 7 day pass so we could have the flexibility to come and go as we please. yesterday [View Full Entry]

After my last blog, with ended with something about 'human skulls' I haven't had much access to internet but had some very interesting few days.. i wrote this the night after my last blog update, but couldn't publish it until now. we made it to Phnom Penh, Cambodia yesterday afternoon....not the smoothest little flight from Bangkok due to high humidity causing some momentarily intense turbulence that freaked me out a bit...I did a bit of meditation/breathing/relaxation exercises in my sat, which Alicen later told me totally freaked out the girl sitting next to me as I was sitting straight up in my seat, eyes closed, breathing slowly and deeply....she probably thought I was about to puke, but it was very calming actually... We've made it to Thailand and are here for just a few more hours until we hop on a one hour flight over to Phnom Penh, Cambodia to begin our jungle-centric adventures through Southeast Asia. It's been a great few days in Hong Kong, though I'm a tad hungover today after a late night out in Macau yesterday. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Hola, we've left the winter behind! 2 days ago we were skating across a frozen lake in Beijing.
