the faces of asia - From: The Last Hurrah
It seems as though everyone in Asia has so much more expression than Americans. Every face I've seen in your pictures has a different expression than the last. The depth of their gaze and the lines in their faces show that so many Americans just haven't seen many real life experiences and hardships. On one hand, it's tragic; on the other hand, because we don't see that every day, it's so much more amazing. I can't wait till you get back, though...I would love to hear about some stories face to face :)

I said that your last post showcased your increasing ability to take amazing photos, but I've got to say that this entry showcases your descriptive capabilities. The short, one-liner photo descriptions tie into the post so well that just reading a few words about the photo really brings me in to the experience and helps me visualize what your journey must have been like. I'm very much enjoying your blog style Timmah! Keep up the good work :)

Thanks... it should be noted that my skills as a photographer have as yet been unchallenged, and so have been improving with experience. Also, Vietnam offers some of the most stunning scenery in SE Asia. Combined, it creates the best collection of pics yet taken by yours truly.

Vietnam by way of photograph absolutely seems somehow more majestic in its natural beauty... By far my favorite set of pictures from the journey :)

cripes - From: Dancing with the Devil in the Pale Moonlight
I think I'm going to have to visit some part of Asia within my lifetime. Mom just got back from Korea, where she raced with Dragonboaters from all over the world. She exchanged her jerseys for Russian, German, Chinese and Japanese Jerseys. She brought back some really nifty souvenirs too! I want so badly to experience the stunning architecture, shiny optimism in their Engrish, and multitudesof other cultural differences first hand. Imma jealous! :)
