Went to Sintra yesterday. A 35 Mins train journey from the Rossio station took me to the Sintra station. From the Sintra station we took a 2 way hop ticket for the bus #434, which took us to the Pena park and palace. The palace is on a hill and park around the palace. After visiting the palace we had long walk inside the park. The map given at the entrance was helpful. You just need to follow the map. The walk inside the park is so good. Lot of trees and quite surroundings. You can have perfect romantic walk. The usual tourist crowd comes to the palace and goes back. After an hour of walk we reached other entrance of the park. 13th March 2008: 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM I am traveling by BMTC Volvo bus (The Red Color fancy AC bus) to commute daily to my office. I had to leave my car because the new company which is located at MG Road Bangalore and didn't parking space for most of employees. I am going to write here about an incident happened in the bus today morning. I got into Volvo bus 335 at HAL Airport Stop at 9:30 AM. I wanted to get down at MG Road. A 6 KM Journey which usually takes 30 mins. (To be precise Shoolay circle, this is because buses don’t go through MG road due to Metro rail construction). 12 Feb 2008 My wife was persuading me for last 6 years to do the Manjinikkara Pilgrimage. Each time I found some reason and postponed it. This year finally we decided to do it. Every year thousands of devotees walk from Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kothamangalam to the Manjinikkara Dayra during the second week Feb to pray and celebrate at the anniversary of the Bhava( Ignathiyoos Elias 111- The Patriacah who visited Malankara in 1930's). Manjinikkara is situated in Omallor panchyath of Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. We wanted to join the pilgrimage procession at Peruva, Kottayam (where my wife's house is situated) and decided to walk almost 100 kms and reach the church. We were planning to go for a pilgrimage to Velankanni for last couple of months. We couldn't get convenient tickets in Mysore- Tanjore Train and the trip got postponed. Last week we decided not to wait anymore for the tickets and decided to drive down. My one month old Maruthi Zen was also a big inspiration for doing the same. Searched in the net and got 2 routes. The first was Bangalore - Trichy- Tanjore- Velankanni which is 475 Kms and the second was Bangalore - Thrivannamali - Neyveli - Punruti - Chidambaram - Karrakkal - Velankanni (430 Kms).
