Today we took a day trip to another island, St. Barts. This island was only a short 45 minute boat ride away on a pretty fast boat. We met Christine before taking off who is from the USA but has been living in St. Maarten/St. Barts for over 5 years. She was very nice. She is a singer and is pretty famous on St. Barts as she seemed to know everyone. I thought she was so nice, and although she was going to meet many of her friends later that evening, she decided to show us around for the day. The harbor in Gustavia, the biggest city in St. Barts was beautiful.....We saw a lot of really big boats. We actually saw the biggest yacht in the world which was owned by one of the richest ... read more

So we got off our cruise for the last time as daddy decided to stay in St. Maarten/St. Martin for 5 nights instead of continuing back to San Juan, Puerto Rico. This seemed like the perfect place to end the vacation and daddy made great choice. He hired a car and we took Avo Jay on a tour of the island before he was to go back on the boat for the last night. While our hotel was in Sint Maarten (Netherlands Antilles) we spent most of our days on the French part of the island (St. Martin) So, the first day with Avo Jay, we headed out for the most famous beach, Baia Orientale. It was really beautiful and I played with Daddy on the beach/water while Avo Jay relaxed. We then ate a good ... read more

4th stop.....St.Kitts. It was time for another morning excursion, and this one was once again a catamaran snorkling trip. This boat was pretty cool as we could relax on the front of the boat on this giant net. We went snorkling at Shitten bay (yes that was the name). However, both Daddy and I were not as impressed after our great snorkling in St. Thomas, as there was not much coral or fish. Also, my snorkling gear did not work that good, and it was cold. However, even with all those things, I still had fun floating around with Daddy and taking in all the beauty. We went back on the boat and I took a giant nap as it was so relaxing and peaceful on the boat. We then met up with Avo Jay and ... read more

3rd stop.....St. Lucia. Daddy and I went on an early morning excursion on a catamaran to the Pitons. As we sailed there we went along the coast and saw some beautiful bays and mountains. We then stopped in a little bay for a swim. I had fun floating around with daddy and looking at the beatuiful area around me. After getting on the boat again, I bought some shell bracelets. Then we continued until we reached the Pitons which were these 2 cool looking mountains. It was a little rainy, one of the only times on the whole trip, but it still was a lot of fun. We then met up with Avo Jay and went shopping for some dolls and then went to a bar for a drink and listened to some music. A short ... read more

Second port...Barbados. Daddy and I left the boat in the morning to get on another boat, but this one was very different.......it was a submarine! Daddy had never been on one of these either. We got on one boat that took us to the place to board the submarine. It was so cool... We went down 148 feet! We saw a sunken ship and soooooo many fish. I had so much fun looking out the window. After the submarine, we went back to the dock to meet Avo Jay. We went into Bridgetown and went out to lunch. I had a "flying fish" sandwich which was very popular in Barbados. We then headed back to the cruise ship.... read more

1st stop on the cruise - St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Early in the morning daddy left the boat by himself to go Scuba Diving. Since he always travels with me and I dont dive yet, this was a time he could do it since I could stay with Avo Jay. Daddy returned at lunchtime after I had a great morning with grandpa. We then left the boat together and got on a big Catamaran with a bunch of people to go snorkling! After practicing once in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and yesterday on the cruise boat, it was time for me to snorkle in the ocean for the first time. I was really excited. They gave me a perfect mask and flippers and with my bathing suit that had a flotation device in it I ... read more

December 19th 2010

It was time for my second cruise, so we said good-bye to San Juan, and boarded the boat with Avo Jay. This one was much longer than the 2 night cruise to the Bahamas I did a couple years ago. This cruise also had a different port every day except for one, so there were many new countries for me to check out. While I will talk about the different ports in different blogs, it is time to write about all the fun on the boat. THis was definitely a BIG boat. We walked all around to see what was there. Lots of different places to eat, a camp for kids, game rooms, lots of bars, and of course, a few pools. Within a couple hours of being on the boat, Me, Daddy and Avo Jay ... read more

After going to Colombia only 3 weeks ago, it was time for another trip. Daddy had more than 2 weeks off before starting his new job as national travel medicine director for Concentra, so it was, of course, time to travel again. Daddy decided to take his daddy on a cruise with us, but as my daddy had to make it a little more exciting, he decided to do it a little differently. We were to fly to San Juan, Puerto Rico and stay there 3 nights before Avo (grandpa in portuguese) Jay arrived and we boarded a boat. Then, after visiting 4 Caribbean islands, daddy and I would get off on the last port, Sint Maarten, leave Avo Jay to finish the cruise and we would stay for 5 nights on the island before flying ... read more

November 26th 2010

Our other day trip was to the Islas de Rosario. Daddy let me choose which trip I wanted to go on as there were a few options to different hotels on different islands, and once I saw the picture of the slide going into the water, it was an easy pick. So, we got up early, waited about 1 1/2 hours at the peir for our boat. This gave me plenty of time for me to convince daddy that I needed goggles and a hat. We got into the boat, and put on our life jackets. At time the boat went really fast, but at times, it actually did not go at all as it had problems with one of the motors. Many people were getting irritated on the boat, but it was nice out and ... read more

On Thanksgiving we did my favorite thing on the trip....We went to the mud volcano. We got picked up at our hotel in a small van with some people from Argentina, England, and the USA and took a 1 hour ride to Volcano El Totumo. This was a very special volcano......We were able to go in it as it was not filled with lava, but was filled with mud. That's right, it was time to get dirty. Shortly after we arrived, we put on our bathing suits and walked up the stairs of the small volcano. At the top, we gave our camera to someone to take pics and wen into the volcano.....thick mud. It was so weird and cool at the same time. While we could not toucht he bottom (I think it was a ... read more
