Well quite a bit has happened since the last entry... we got on a train to alexandria at around 12pm and it took about 3 hours. Alexandria and Cairo were much different than I was expecting. I expected cairo to be a more world class city with skyscrapers and just more modern over all and I expected Alexandria to be a bit nicer as well since apparently a lot of european tourists visit alexandria http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Egypt/Upper-Egypt/Luxor/blog-114599.html First day in Cairo... Well everyone i dont have a huge amount of time so i gonna keep this pretty short and sweet.. 15hrs and about 5000 miles later we arrived in Cairo at around 4pm only about 30 mins late. We got to the airport and got our bags bought our visas and went through security.. We were supposed to meet up with people from out hostel who were picking us up from the airport but we had no id http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Egypt/Lower-Egypt/Cairo/blog-114166.html Down to my final week... Well after 7 weeks of traveling im starting to look forward to going home. Im a bit burned out from sightseeing but now that im in Berlin im gonna try to get some energy from somewhere since theres a ton of cool stuff to see in this city Hitlers bunker remnants of the Berlin wall etc. so i think im gonna take a couple walking tours because its jsut makes it easier and you get a lot more out of http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Germany/District-of-Berlin/Berlin/blog-9766.html ... The other night after I posted we met up with Herbert at a Jazz club and i got some dinner we watched live jazz until around1030 or so and then headed off to a dance club which was a good time. They played some dance songs I remember form back in the day...Let the sunshine Neil if youre reading these you'll remember that one. Even the dance club was very similar to any other club ive been to http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Slovakia/Bratislava-Region/Bratislava/blog-9272.html Greetings from Slovakia Now I know you guzs are wondering how the hell I ended up in Slovakia. Well I was in Munich and looking for a cheap ride to Vienna and the people at the hostel told us about a place called something like MitzfahrlCentrale thats really not even close to whats its called and you basically get set up with people going to or near places and you pay the agency and give the person a specified amount http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Slovakia/Trnava-Region/Piestany/blog-9153.html In Munich... Yesterday was a lot of fun biking in the Alps albeit once again quite dangerous flying down gravel paths. Pretty much anything fun here involves danger but it was a good time canyoning was my favorite sport that I did here. But after 4 days I was once again ready to head off somewhere new and less expensive. Switzerland was ridiculously expensive no seriously really really expenisive. We got http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Germany/Bavaria/Munich/blog-8931.html Extreme sports in the Alps I got to Interlaken a few days ago and its been intense. Yesterday I went Canyoning which is basically a combo of high jumps into waterfalls and rock climbing and body surfing down the river. We did a few jumps one from about 10ft and the higest one from about 40ft it was crazy. We also layed down and let the water just carry you down the rapids seemed pretty dangerous but only 2 people got http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Switzerland/South-West/Interlaken/blog-8715.html Last day or so in Italy As if the italians need more time off theres a train strike tomorrow so apparently most train service will be delayed. Right now im in a campsite about 30 mins outside of venice called Camping Fusina its a nice break from hostels. Im actually traveling with someone I met in Cinque terre which was awesome. The first nice we got a few bottles of wine and just watched the sunset over the water. http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Italy/Veneto/Venice/blog-8535.html Museums and such in Florence Well I got up at 545am in order to get to Termini station for a 647 train to Florence. I didnt get much sleep on the train so im a little tired now but I got an espresso so thats helped a little bit. I wanted to get here early to have the full day rather than sleep in and get here at 4pm...my train got in before 10 and I saw the duomo and david before noon.I went over to the Tourist office and g http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Italy/Tuscany/Florence/blog-8107.html Last day in Rome...Florence tomorrow I was about to post a journal entry last night when one of my roommates came running into the computer lab saying that everyones bags had been broken into so I went running upstairs and my backpack still looked intact the zippers were still locked shut. But then when I turned my bag and looked at the other side the zipper had been ripped open and my camera and memory cards cash and some other http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Italy/Lazio/Rome/blog-8057.html Ruins of Pompeii Alright people i got to see the ruins of pompeii which was really interesting. There were 4 casts and were pretty eerie because their arms were covering their faces and you could almost feel bad for them. Then we went to the Herculaneum which is further from Mt. Vesuvius so it was much more intacts and had tons of actual artifcats from 2000 years ago...really awesome. I took a bunch of pics s http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Italy/Campania/Naples/blog-7978.html Lovin Italy Sorry guys ive been busy lately and havent really had a chance to get on here. For the record Italy is the greatest country on earth. I spent 2 full days in Rome and decided to head down to Naples with a couple people that I met and I think im gonna head back to rome in a couple days for another 2 days since theyre leaving to go back to london on tuesday. Its been cool having people to travel w http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Italy/Campania/Naples/blog-7918.html Dublin So I was able to hitch a ride from Doolin to Galway and I gave Armindo euro10 because gas is around 4 gallon. Neither of us knew the area but it seemed to be near the city center so he pulled over and dropped me off on some corner. It was cool that he drove me because I got to see some of the Burren which I wouldnt have been able to see without doing a tour or renting a car or something. Plu http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Ireland/County-Dublin/blog-7557.html Cont... On Monday nights theres a bar called McDermotts that ha a group of 4 young guys from Ennis that come down and play some traditional Irish music so that was a great time. The music which nauseated me during St. patricks day at outback was a lot of fun in its proper setting. I had some guiness smithwicks and a delicious bowl of real Irish Stew. I met 2 more Americans who were real laid back and http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Ireland/County-Clare/Doolin/blog-7345.html Drinking the Black Magic in Doolin... Well its been a couple days but i've decided to go onward and forward with my flight to Dubrovnik i found a bunch other numbers to call for lodging. Let's see whats happened since my last entry...Well I got Fish and Chips again since its cheap fills you up and is relatively good and found Ken chilling in the common room which he usually does and asked him if he wanted to go check out the Comedy http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Ireland/County-Clare/Doolin/blog-7338.html Last day in London... Im glad that so many people are checking out this site unfortunately i dont have enough time to respond to everyone sorry guys especially with issues arising in Dubrovnik where i may have to skip that flight and write off euro64 which really sucks. I didnt think a Croatian hostel would be booked this far in advance especially in April. Oh well... Well I went out with Ken and got some sushi http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Greater-London/London-City/blog-7211.html PreTrip Entry Well everyone just testing out this travelblog for my 6 week trip thats only 6 days away. http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Massachusetts/Boston/blog-6502.html Getting settled in london... Well everyone i made it to London...Right now i'm sitting at the hostel internet cafe after taking a couple power naps since i only got to sleep a couple hours on the flight over since the seats were pretty uncomfortable. I got to Paris around 550am and had to transfer from terminal 2C to 2F. So I got packed onto the bus but when the door went to open at my stop is caught my foot in the door an http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Greater-London/London-City/blog-6985.html So much to do and see... Hey guys Just so you know im pretty sure ive been getting all of your messages. Well the other night after I posted and went back to my room but since I hadn't met anyone it was a little lonely to be honest. So I went to a backpackers bar down the street called The Midas Touch I sat around for about 10 minutes and recognized some people from the hostel earlier that day so I jsut went over an http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Greater-London/London-City/blog-7102.html Back at the hostel... So last night not much was going on and honestly my legs were killing me from the walk to the Tower of London. I chilled in the common room with the Irish guy Ken and watched a couple movies until about 1230am and got some Burger King 4.55 or almost 9 for a chicken sandwich quite the deal i must say. The burgers are dirt cheap but im not getting any ground beef here in the U.K. with the mad http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/United-Kingdom/England/Greater-London/London-City/blog-7146.html
