we really enjoyed Datong, especially the business hotel near the station for fraction of a price when compared with the quality;-) Hanging Monastery was not special at all - good choice;-) happy Travels, B&T

Hi B&T, loving your blogs, a lot of our ideas for China come directly from your blogs. The islands you are at in Indo sound amazing, we hope to get there early next year. When are you finishing?

DATONG
Please tell me where you took this pic...haven't seen it before. As to Datong we had a totally different appreciation for what is on offer...and we did it in -20 deg C. I'm blogging it soon. The main degrading of Yunggang Grottoes is not just wind. It is from the coal mines across the road...some of the biggest in China. Hope you love Pingyao...unique vibe.

Yungang
Hi Dave, really enjoy your blogs, espially some of the olde ones. Just before you continue on the path up too the caves, you can turn left and make your way up too the first temple, this is the path leading up to it. pingyao is great we have been here a few days and never been anywhere quite like it. Thanks for reading S&V

Perou and around
Indeed, a very charming report. Reminds me of my own travel experience so many years ago. Then, in 2007 my son Simon (aged 19) was in CHILE for a social year; there he experienced all the areas I didn't reach. Thank yor very much, Wolfgang from Bavaria/GERMANY

Loving your blog
Your description of the chinese is so vivid and in parts pretty discussing. Ive always assumed that they will be as polite as the Japanese. Loving your blog as always they are so interesting and you bring everything to life. lots of love Denise

Me again
Now I have started I feel like I should make a oui comment on every blog just so you know I ma reading and appreciating each and every entry xx Sounds amazing and jsut not at all what you picture China to be when you think of it, more of the native side I guess rather than the hustle bustle polluted citities you see on the news and stuff. You both always look rather trendy wendy and glam in your pics. Miss you xxxx

Hello
Entrance to ching chong china sounded delightful and the sort of entrance that makes you think why did i ever leave the last place and your like who do you believe as the bus stop ends up being round the corner and their piling up!Love the safety standards of foreign travel....and love that you poked a complete stranger to stop them snoring....well done Sherlock Toria locating all the missing items and scott had worked so hard to try and get rid of these boots in the night, ha ha ha. The caves sound amazing, I love it when your not too sure and then it turns out to be amazing. Thanks for not eating the pets xxx

Lesson learnt
Well I certainly didnt think Honk Kong had beaches, they say you learn something new every day and that is my bit! thanks guys! Peach airlines....could only be Asia! That sleeping on airport floors certainly brings back some not so fond memories of my travels, getting woken by the early morning cleaners or being told to move on by ratty security ppl! The skline looked incredible and food sounds amazing, although I think you need a loyalty card for 7/11! I am somewhat jealous at the luck you seem to have with rooms you are staying in, to find a good one when I was off always seemed like such a mission! xxxxxxxxx

why didnt you pack me in your bag?
Guys where on earth in amongst your utterly non stop days have you found so much time to fill us in on your daily expereinces, I am most impressed. Japan certainly sounded amazing and clearly impressed as your research and months of planning must really ahave paid off fitting in so much everyday xxx

Dont be stealing those pussys!
Glad to hear full advantage was made of the food and booze on flight!Vic you do make me laugh love how you picked another after not liking the first fortune! I can picture it now. Those toilets are sounding rather lush for the slums you were supposedly going to be staying....hee he he..... although if your spending all your mone.y on fancy places so you have to come home a bit early that is fine! Scotty I do hope you caught these animal impressions of vic on some sort of video .... would brighten up any day! Thise cat places are random, maybe I could do the same have a tea room at home with the pooch to pet! Dont be staeling none of them kittys toria I bet your tempted, I recon Tone would love one of them waving cats! Ha ha ha! Love ya xxxxxxxx

Scotty and Toria, I cant believe you have been gone almost 4 weeks :-( am missing you muchly and have a nice lil day off to finally catch up with all your bloggies to date as forever get distracted trying to get stuck in at work! Not helpful! Your start sounded amazing, and most impressed scotty finally decided on the most appropriate jeans and converse!lol he did make me chuckle that evening. First class sounded divine although not easing you in very gently to the backpacking culture! Much love and now to read through all your excitment as I sit in front of the fire and still bloody cold xxxxxxxx

Cool
Hiya guys. Cool blog as normal. I won't waffle on about it too much, but suffice to say, it's up to your normal standard. The rice terraces look great, and China sounds a great place and you both seem to be managing the cultural and language difficulties briliantly. Carry on having a great time. As always, be alert, stay safe, and roll on the next one. Love Mum & Farsh xxxxx
