4:45 a.m. Early- Too early. I didn’t get much sleep last night, but as soon as I managed to shake off the cobwebs and get dressed I’m semi-ready to go. Its warm, dry, and no breeze, which would be a TOTAL lie. It’s cold, dark, windy the kind that drives its way through you, and just too early. **Italic (Daniel, quit telling stories, it wasn’t THAT cold. Today we pack. Backpack -Check Clothes -Check Tent -Check Transport -Check "Bears, If You Can Read This You're To Close!" sign -Check and Check I've put off packing for awhile and now it seems that I pack the day before the trip, maybe a habit that should be broken, but for a trip like this it never hurts to be prepared. To be honest, yeah I'm a little nervous, more excited than nervous though. Its like, I'm setting out on this big adventure and I really have no idea what to expect. Going through my pack several times makeing sure everything is there, and I didnt forget something stupid like socks or toilet paper. Well, I have decided to make a quick little weekend trip down to the Houston / Beaumont area a warm up posting, a sort of “lets try this out and see how it goes” kind of thing. My trip was two-fold. First I was going down to take care of some personal business and as a more enjoyable side benefit I had a duck hunt scheduled. It all started of very early Saturday morning (well not VERY early, but early enough). Leaving home with the truck all loaded and driving through town before too many people were awake is always fun. Hello Everyone, This is what I hope to be the first entry of many. I wanted to get a page up before actually hitting the road so I could give you y'all a link to come check. As most of you know Daniel and I will be on our way to Big Bend in a couple weeks for a backpacking trip. I plan on taking a bunch of pictures and wanted everyone to be able to keep up with us along the way.
