Well, Day Two of our stopover in Singapore, and by God it does not get any colder. Another day of sweat running down your back, endless mopping of the upper lip and double and triple checking that your pits don't stink! Today we went to the tourist plagued island of Sentosa, mostly famous for the big Merlion statue (which by the way is bloody HUGE!!), where we went to the very pretty, but sometimes darn creepy, butterfly and insect park. Well we made it on to an aeroplane and to Singapore, finally, it's all happening, despite my predictions of disaster of some sort to prevent us going! The flight was...well, the flight was a long haul flight. The food on Emirates is lovely - no campylobacter this time, although there was an earwig in my delicious smoked salmon salad - it was a living, crawling earwig so at least I knew it was fresh. Well in one week's time we'll be off to the airport - although if I have my way, being my father's daughter, I'll be at the airport already (for our flight in four hours' time)! Not much to report except another station win in the Radio Awards and a good night had by all - except for me the seedy hungover feeling on Sunday turned into a long, drawn out case of the...well let's just say the bathroom and I are good friends! Well, we're homeless, jobless and waiting for the next bit! We've made our way from Whakatane to Auckland to spend time with family before flying out but there's still plenty to do. All our stuff is either packed away in storage or sold but we still managed to arrive in Auckland with a car full of more stuff! So before we go we have to pack properly.
