London - May 8th - May 18th, 2009 London is one of the few city's in Europe, like Paris and Rome, where you could spend countless days wandering around the sights, attractions and museums, and still not see everything. Canterbury & Dover - May 15th, 2009 Because we had unlimited access to a car for free, for our next day trip we decided to head out to the fabled town of Canterbury. Located about 55 miles southeast from Sidcup, it took us only one hour to drive on the A20. Arriving there, the first thing one see's is the main center tower of the famous cathedral, soaring 297 feet into the air, much higher than any of the surrounding buildings. Stonehenge - May 13th, 2009 Last time we were in London, we had wanted to visit Stonehenge, but never got around to doing it mainly because of the cost of getting out there. It was put on our "next time" list, and it sat there until today. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was definitely on our list of things to see this time around. Although the weather forecast was not favourable, we jumped in my brothers car and headed out to Amesbury, the closest village to the monument. Arsenal vs. Chelsea - May 10th, 2009 After my first taste of Premier League football, I needed to see more. I went on a mission to score another set of tickets for any game either in London, Manchester or Liverpool. The London darby was being played the very next day, Arsenal vs. Chelsea. Everyone I asked told me "good luck" or thought we would have to shell out big bucks for tickets to this game. Liverpool vs. Westham - May 9, 2009 One of the very few things we had planned before leaving Canada on this trip was to go see a Premier League game. I had searched for tickets all over the place for a few months prior to leaving. The Journey began in Iceland on May 1st 2009, which we quickly discovered was Slaves Day. Reykjavik was a ghost town. We arrived very early in the morning to be greeted by a bitter cold, rustic and intriguing landscape. The drive from the airport to the Travel-Inn Guesthouse took less then an hour but revealed the diversity Iceland had to offer.
