The next morning we boarded a minibus to Nong Khiaw a town about 3 hours drive from Luang Prabang. We trekked into the forest out of the village of Ban Na about an hour's drive outside of Vientiane. Because we arranged the trek through an office in Vientiane we had an English speaking guide with us plus our driver. We'll try to catch up here.The day after we visited Tiritiri Matangi we rented a car a Nissan Sunny and drove south to Waitomo for a cavethemed day. We took the bus into town and found ourselves a hotel in central Aucklandwe agreed on relatively cushy accomodation at first to increase our chances of getting a good night's sleep.
