Re: The Heat Is On In Saigon - From: The Heat is on in Saigon
Sorry Paul - one last burst of Miss Saigon lyrics coming up - Ready Zoe? In a world that's moving too fast, In a world where nothing can last, I will hold you I will hold you *(chest to fist, power ballad style)* Our lives will change, when tomorrow comes, Tonight our hearts drown the distant drums, And we have music all right - tearing the night, The song *(wobbly long note - tuning fork for )* Played on a solo saxophone, a crazy sound, a lonely sound, a cry that tells us love goes on and on...... played on a solo saxophone, it's telling me, to hold you tight and dance like it's the last night of the world..... *(arab spring, exit stage right)

Singapore and Jonesy - From: Singapore - The Lion City
Ah Singapore, probably the city I've visited most over the years, many memories, did a four hour dash of the city in 1987 on a connecting flight from Japan as it was the first time I'd been there, ruined a pair of shoes at a foam party on Orchard Road once, had some very nice red wine at the revolving restaurant at the Mandarin Hotel, and went to the races once too, you have to put your mobile phone away in a locker. Bought my first ever CD player there too in December 1991 - it also played tapes too though thank God. Also slept on a bench from 04:00 until 08:00 on 1st Jan 1998 after a heavy New Years Eve. Brought about 8 copy Rolex home one year and managed to get through the red channel at Heathrow as I declared my extra bottle of booze! My Ex wife knocked a tooth out (mine) in the summer of 2000 too now there's a bit of trivia for you!!

Gerard the barman
Sounds like Ben Elton...looks like Oliver Reed - From: Eastbourne it ain't
Whilst i was stood behind the Bar serving copious Jugs of cold VB, Victoria Bitter, to Paul and friends, and less copious amounts of Jindalee Sav blanc to the lovely Zoe, i would fair dinkum "hear" Ben Elton, but when i looked up i would "see" Oliver Reed. Bloody funny stuff really. Here on Magnetic Island North Queensland its important to remain very hydrated at all times, its my job to make sure all the visitors to the Bar (who quickly become friends) are adequately hydrated. I thank you Ben err, Oliver err, Paul in assisting me in the arduous but very important task. Linda and i wish you Zoe and Paul nothing but Good fortune and a happy and healthy trip. I'll be a serial blogg watcher from now on! Thanks for the 3 smashing scouzer gags and see you in Goa!

I'm sooooo green - From: Busy in Brisbane
I so wish I was with you, you are just having the most fantastic time and it brings back memories of my own trip up the east coast especially when my sister and I went swimming and had sand-castle competitions in a beautiful bay where we ran gaily in and out of the sea, swimming through the waves ... only to find out as we left that it was called Shark Bay and do you know why?? Because it was a shark hang-out! Aaagh. Anyway I am pleased to here that you continue to support the wine industry. I hear on the news that shares in Oz wine are rising at the moment with an imminent decline ahead when the Corcoran's quit the continent. going now because I am far too green for comfort love ya (and so does Murray but he's far more gruff about it) xxxx

prawns and champagne - From: Lake Taupo and Paul's Prawn Extravaganza
well I didn't like to comment on the previous blog since it all reminded me of sitting behind a car with its catalytic converter going off - but Lindauer Fraise! Now that's more like it. Please can I have some and the prawns (cooked not dangling from your hands) And of course I realised you stayed in the pub so long because of the view. Would have got me too! Love the photo of Zoe and the lamp (now that would have made Florence Nightingale very jealous) and the London sign (couldn't see how far it was though, but lots of miles probably) and the pic on top of NZ is superb. And what can I see out of my window?? Mmm, lovely grey drizzle (but not the kind you get on lemon cake unfortunately) Keep the pics and commentary coming - its great love Mrs M x

Brave! - From: New Zealand - Auckland
Wow, you two really are whizzing around the world - in the time you've semi-orbited the world, I've managed to get to work and back a few times! And I think you are both very, very, very, very, brave going up in a see-through lift - I went up to the first stage of the Eiffel Tower and bleated like a shot lamb so big hats off to you both. Magic photos by the way - good ole croc dundee cake and his fearless Zoe, half fish, half woman. By the way we still miss you! xx

I'm so jealous! - From: Road Trip Part II - Journey to Kaitaia
Sounds like you are having so much fun .... seems like such a long time ago that I was in NZ. Rotorua is a complete must - another Cultural village for Paul to enjoy but the gysers are fantastic. Zoe you'll know you're getting near when you're in the car and you think that Paul has puffed - the only downside of Rotorua is the rotten egg smell from the sulphur springs which is quite horrid!!! If the Polynesian Pools are still there you must do that if only to relax your aching bones .... love to you both, Deb, Stubey and mittens xxx
