| 25th February 2009 Alan B. | career move - From: Going Home: "Thats all I have to say about that." forget about being a doctor. You should be an entertainer as you already look like someone famous (even if a religious figure) and you have the wit and personality to get people to listen to you. How about a TV show called " Where in the World is Kyle Bernard" There are still 150 plus countries to visit. Good luck on your journey. |

I think I saw something similar on my way to work in downtown Flint a couple of weeks ago! Oh, and I think I'll skip this entry when filling my little students in on your latest adventure. They LOVE my Kyle stories, and have your postcards taped all over the classroom! You're the best! Stay safe...and apparently away from Uraguayan ballet performers. Love you! Julie |

This time I thought to myself "look at what a good looking group of guys" so I decide to make a comment and share my thoughts... Then I went back and read the blog... which ends with a story about objectification... Then I think "Great, have I treated these guys like they are on some adventure calendar for single women!?I even titled the comment "studs" just to bring it home! I am hoping that because you were all posing for these photos - you just feel flattered ;) Kerry Lynn p.s. good reminder to ask before taking pictures... | 15th November 2008 Linda Kelly | Bar picture - From: Welcome back to the 21st century Loved the pics. esp. the bar one. It reminds me of my wilder days at studio 54 in NYC. You had to have at least one or 2 gay friends with you to get in. THanks for sharing your trip. Aloha, Linda |

| 8th November 2008 Alan B. | halucinations - From: No barking from the dog, no smog, and momma cooked a breakfast with no hog This certainly looks like a magical place. Are you guys sure that this is all optical illusions and the coca leaves aren't effecting your bodies and brains so grow and shrink in you own minds and then photogragh so we catch you doing magic trips. I don't believe any of this is real. It's that new camera Kyle bought that makes us think we are seeing ehat we are not seeing. Where can I get one? |
| 8th November 2008 Alan B. | Kyle and Eric have the wrong movie. - From: Butch Cassid-stien and the Sundance Kyle I think you guys have the wrong movie. | 20th October 2008 Suzanne | Well... - From: The Worlds Most Dangerous Journey Stick to walking with Llamas. You just get dirty feet and the llamas spit on you. Go to Trancoso, Bahia, Brazil and hang on the beach with Mark & Myriam! That's where I want to be right now. A much better "place" than where I am right now.... Wishing I was anywhere. |
| 19th October 2008 Kyle's Mom | Enough! - From: The Worlds Most Dangerous Journey OK - Are you really on a death wish? I think your journey to South America could tame down a bit! I'm glad I did not know what you were doing. Hopefully, the rest of the trip will be more sane. (Yes, sometimes this mom will nag...) |

| 6th October 2008 The Bernard Brothers | Mark it zero - From: Salkantay Trail to Machu Picchu: The Most Beautiful Girl In the Room I am getting plenty of video this time around. | 5th October 2008 Bobbo | Memory - From: Salkantay Trail to Machu Picchu: The Most Beautiful Girl In the Room Geek: Maybe if you laid off the coca leaves you'd remember what kind of orchids those were. (Always looking our for your well-being.) |
| 5th October 2008 Knox Harrington, the video artist | Does the word bother you? - From: Salkantay Trail to Machu Picchu: The Most Beautiful Girl In the Room It's odd being on this side of the blog, but I'm glad to see that Eric has picked up the edit routine... The rule with Kyle, Eric, is to not listen sometimes. Especially in the morning. Or if you happen to be in Rajasthan, India. Kyle, I hope you're capturing plenty of video. Is there a way you can upload the videos from SE Asia, India, and Africa to the website or some other site that might support them? Your roll, Walter. |
| 4th October 2008 Don't call me Becky ! | Fantastic (capital G) - From: Salkantay Trail to Machu Picchu: The Most Beautiful Girl In the Room Extremely impressed with your informative, creative, and entertaining blog dude. | 13th August 2008 Stephen Paul | dont worry, be happy - From: Clark Griswald, Chuck Norris, the Unibomber, and "Company" Climb Kili Great post! Kili looks insanely beautiful, someday I will visit. Its like another world, and its good to see the glaciers still look think. Dont worry, when Obama gets elected the USA will start down a whole new path to the future! It wont save the melting glaciers(too little too late, we are now #2 in polluting behind China and soon India) but at least it wont make us look so bad. PS- I had to throw away my shoes I took to Ratanakiri because of the red dirt!! |
| 11th August 2008 John Boy | You guys are awesome - From: The Good Life on Safari It's been great to see the pictures and read your stories over the last few months. | 29th July 2008 mel | an annoying truth - From: Clark Griswald, Chuck Norris, the Unibomber, and "Company" Climb Kili It's so cool that you guys got to climb mount Kilamanjaro and no one died! I couldn't be prouder! I guess most people die on Everest and such, not so much Kilamanjaro. But all the Makolins are very happy that you're alive. And I am the only Makolin who will make this comment, but I am happy for you because you have gotten to see the snow and ice on Kilamanjaro before it melts away and is gone for...well maybe not forever, but at least for some long glacial period. You have all seen something that most people will never see in their lifetime, and I couldn't be more thrilled for you! How well deserved the "soaking in [the] spoils" will be for you! Please tell your parents I said hello! And give them hugs for me! |

| 25th June 2008 clark and deming | - From: The Monsoons Win: Onward to Africa that shit would drive me nuts! I can't stand poor logic! |
| 24th June 2008 Ryan | Powerlines... - From: The Monsoons Win: Onward to Africa Given the inefficientcy's described in the above cultural depiction I would assume some public service engineer was paid for numerous hours of CADD modelling creating wiring diagrams for all the powerlines shown. These diagrams were then discarded by the installation crew who just got the job done, and charged there time as if it had been done to design. I dare those writing to disprove Kyles above statements to prove me wrong... |
| 24th June 2008 tracy | - From: The Monsoons Win: Onward to Africa all of the history you have taken in over the last several months has been amazing! if you have any additional pics of temples/churches/etc (along with any background info you can remember) please send them my way, i would love to see them. safe travels! |
| 20th June 2008 The Bernard Brothers | My philosophy on taking pictures - From: Mountains, Monsoons, and My Opinion on the World Darren refuses to take pictures, so I (Kyle) do most of the photography. I have a Cannon S5, and it takes great pics. My philosophy on taking pictures is that if you go to the most beautiful places in the world and take hundreds of photos, some are bound to be good. |
| 20th June 2008 The Bernard Brothers | You want a pic of rain? - From: Mountains, Monsoons, and My Opinion on the World Without getting a camera wet, it isn't the easiest to take a picture of the rain; and, to be honest, it isn't all that sexy. But, for you Kuney, I would walk 500 miles. |
| 19th June 2008 Jennifer | - From: Mountains, Monsoons, and My Opinion on the World who takes the photos? do you guys have a really good camera or are you just that good at photography? |
| 18th June 2008 Zach | WHAT WHAT WHAT - From: Mountains, Monsoons, and My Opinion on the World No pictures of the Monsoon???? |
| 18th June 2008 Janelle | CCS Love for Darren - From: Mountains, Monsoons, and My Opinion on the World Darren! It sounds like you've had quite the journey, thank you for including me in your blog. If you have time, I know Anil would LOVE to see you- have you stopped by or do you plan to stop by and say hi to him? I know this is a separate experience, but if you want some good (free) food and some familiar faces, you know where to go!! |
| 9th June 2008 Ryan (Alias: Brother not Bumming around India) | Getting in shape for Kili. - From: The Sites You've Seen From Home Glad to here you are getting in shape for the climb, I am looking forward to it. (I'd better get on the eliptical for a few hours a today.) No better way to train for the altitude adjustment then a visit to the Himalaya's. Enjoy your time hanging with the llamma's, and see you in a months time. |
| 4th June 2008 Aunt Ilene | - From: Getting by in Rajasthan Sorry to hear that you were sick Kyle. I hope you are feeling better by now? I so look forward in getting these. I love you.. be good & be safe! |
| 24th May 2008 Rick | generalizing on humor - From: Mumbai: A reflection on my first month in India How shared is this opinion among the K, D, & B? Some are quite audacious claims to make about a population of 13 MM in one city or 1B in the country. I truly enjoyed reading through every line. And, hey, thanks for teaching what a "trustafarian" is. |
| 20th May 2008 Jessica Bernard | art history - From: India in Ruins 2: Ellora and Ajanta hey boys! thanks for the update and the amazing pics. i just busted out my Buddhist Art and Architecture book and i can not believe you are seeing all of the sites in the book. what an incredible experience! enjoy! | 12th May 2008 Ryan (Alias: Bro NOT Bumming around India) | Enjoy the Wonderful world of cricket... - From: Portugese India: A tropical setting for Rocky VII You skipped stopping at Gokarna. Wow, I thought you were going to hit every beach on continental Southeast Asia..... I wouldn't worry to much about being late to the cricket match. The wonderful thing about cricket is that matches can last for day's. That should get you plenty of time to get the glycerol out of your beers. Have fun. |
| 8th May 2008 Ryan | Sounds like... - From: Welcome to the land of bobble heads Sounds like Kyle has converted to the head bobble. By the way after rereading your posting last night some members of the local Baptist Church came to my door for a "Survey." Boy was it fun to to flummox them when I told them, "You know my brother just wrote that faith was disproved by scientists. But thanks anyway." Boy they looked totally stunned. (I did tell them it was a joke [kinda].) I think it shortened the sales pitch however. |

| 18th April 2008 mel | enough about your dong - From: Sapa women just want your dong You have both become excellent photographers. Your eye and skill are really very impressive. Too bad you can't keep your mind off your dong. :) That joke would never get old for me. I love to see the things that you have seen, but try not to be too hard on the locals. They're just trying to get by like everyone else. I'll bet it gets annoying, though, and not to mention depressing. Just remember 2 things: Just say no, and keep your dong in your pants...or where ever your wallet is! HA!!!!! hugs, mel |
| 18th April 2008 Brian Kany | - From: Sapa women just want your dong Hey Guys, That was another great post Kyle. I’m so impressed with the effort you’re putting into this trip. Take care and keep it up. Cousin Brian |

| 1st April 2008 MOM | Only a mother... - From: … on the playground is where I spent most of my days… Oh my.. Matt is so right about that expression on Kyle's face in that photo.. It is so like the ones when he dresses in drag (he's done this more than a few times- The Dolly Parton costume and the maid photo do come to mind - without the mustachio) Glad you picked on dad this time and not me.. It's nice to know that you are thinking about us. Keep up the good work with the blog. You have a lot of followers. Love you guys, Stay safe, MOM |

| 14th March 2008 Nutrub | Looking good fellas - From: Two Turntables and a Microphone Some good blogs so far dudes. To be honest, I love reading these the first thing when I get in the morning. Glad to hear that you have the same cheezy, touristy feeling of some of the local activities...it seems the Lonely Planet has now actually overpowered the places that were once unique, but hey, its at least better than the rituals of Cancun. Darren - stop studying and go find yourself an asian girl. Kyle - your looking good man. I just might have to take you up on the offer of heading to South America. |

| 10th February 2008 The Bernard Brothers | accommodation in HK - From: Hong Kong, Kowloon, Kowloon Hong Kong Marika - my brother and I stayed in the Chung King Mansions. The location is great. It is right at the base of Kowloon on the metro line. It is easy to get anywhere from there, however, the specific place we stayed at wasn't the best, I wouldn't recommend it and the "Mansions" themselves are kind of slummish. That said, it was only about 20 U.S. a night and for HK that isn't bad. We used www.hostelworld.com to book it. Hope that helps! |
| 6th February 2008 Marika | Where did you stay - From: Hong Kong, Kowloon, Kowloon Hong Kong Great reading. We're planning a trip to Hong Kong in April 2008 and after reading about your visit I really can't wait. We are currently trying to sort out accommodation. Any recommendations? Would love to know where you stayed. |

| 24th January 2008 Suzanne | Ahh Man! - From: A welcome to Asia I heard a rumor you were out and about the great, big world! The word "jealous" does not describe my deepest (darkest) feelings at the moment! Jeanette only wants to quit for a year? I'm ready to quit permanently and travel NOW. My kids want to but "The Man" is keeping me down! The very mean, old, responsible, married man.... So enjoy the sights and food for me. | 21st January 2008 Rick | Germanized English--Great Grammar Boost - From: A welcome to Asia Awesome blog and cool stories to date. Simply for the love of anything German: "Schadenfreude" (Schaden means damage and Freude means joy. Germans are great at constructing sensible words. Their gender usage may at times make no sense, but the word often should.) Have a great start to the trip. Later Days, Rick (I'm a friend of Darren's from Carlson) |
