Videos will be posted to our youtube account. http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-428773.html Flattop Mountain Today we decided it was about time we actually did some Alaska stuff. So we decided to hike a trail called Flattop Mountain. I Anna am ridiculously out of shape. I seriously thought I was gonna die. It was so hard but David pushed me the whole way. He and Griffin were running up the thing like it was nothing. Up near the top we actually had to rock climb hand over foot. It was hard b http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-424839.html Our Apartment Ok everyone sorry it took so long. finally getting a long weekend from work for the 4th. Too bad we cant enjoy the fireworks the whole 2 hours of dimness doesnt work out too well. Anyway I put some pics up with this post of our apartment. It is small but it works for us. Enjoy.. Ill try to put up some videos but last time would take way too long to upload somewhere in the 24 hour range. http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-414661.html Moving in We get to move in to our apartment today Finally I can't say that I'll never go camping again but it's definitely gonna be awhile lol. So the apartment is really tiny and we had to pay a ridiculous amount of money to get it bad credit but at least we have a roof over our heads now. No more being homeless Yay The apartments have a fitness center that's right next to our building http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-409075.html I hate titling things lol I am going to talk to the lady at the Alpine Apartments at 9. Hopefully we can move in tonight or tomorrow. REALLY hopefully lol. I love camping but you can only handle so much of a good thing ya know We went to Petco and got Griffin a new harness and leash yesterday. This one was supposed to stop him from pulling when he walks. Lol guess how that turned out Yeah not so much. That li http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-408796.html Finally We will probably be able to move into an apartment on Monday Finally So excited http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/blog-407799.html Hangin in There So here I am stealing some more wifi lol. I found out that I didn't get the job at the mortgage company yesterday. Guess it's for the best though. I don't think I really wanted to work at a mortgage company I think I just wanted to work. Anyways the girl from Adams Associates Carolynn is amazing. She is doing everything she can to get me a job even if it's not through the company. Sh http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-407516.html bah Didn't get the job. Guess I should try to get a waitressing job or something. Ill write more later. http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/blog-407354.html Here ya go So here are some of the pictures I've taken so far. I don't have very many of downtown yet. Things have been kind of crazy the past few days. The building that you see is the public library. It's massive. I had an interview for a full time job yesterday and my second interview is tomorrow afternoon. Wish me luck http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-405026.html New Mission Ok so I have decided on a new mission. Partly because of something Casey said to us I've decided that I am going to put together a series of photos and writings to make you all so jealous of Alaska that you will HAVE to come up here It really is absolutely beautiful here. I'm having a much better day by the way. I guess it's just hard adjusting to not knowing anything or anyone up here. http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-404394.html Having a bad day So this is Anna. I am having a horrible day. David and I woke up and took a shower. We were out of our conditioner so I used the conditioner the hotel had in the bathroom. Now my head smells like pine sol. Who freakin makes conditioner that smells like Pine Sol Ramada Inn that's who. So we checked out of the hotel and I took David to his first day of work at his warehouse job. He http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-403355.html Jobs Ok so in the process of getting Anna a job I have acquired two. I will be working fulltime at a warehouse in the slopes as they call it and working part time at Home Depot. Tomorrow I have to go take two drug tests get letters from both of my jobs stating my salary turn it in to the apartment manager go to Wells Fargo and accept a wire transfer for the money from the car take that money http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-402868.html Our first job Anna and I just got home from our first job. It was for netflix opening up returned dvd's and organizing them. It was originally a 4 hour job but me and Anna finished it in under 2 and a half hours. I can't believe that is someones fulltime job. To sit and open mail for 8 hours a day would drive me insane Anyway that will give us a little bit more money for the time being. I go in for my http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-402652.html OK Ok so here goes... I went to the Home Depot to get a job in the middle of the interview she told me I am way too overqualified for the job so she gives me the name of one of her friends that owns a company. This company builds cell towers for the oil industry in Anchorage. I put my resume in there today and the hr gave it directly to the Home Depot lady's friend. She even called him directly an http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-402453.html Interviews Today we go to our interviews. Wish us luck http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-402345.html It all rides on tomorrow We found our new favorite internet cafe They have really good coffee too Its called the Kaladi Brothers. Plus Anna and I agree there's a really cute girl that works here. loll. It really sucks that our hotels wireless is down because we cant watch anything but hotel supplied cable... which shows the same movie every hour. I got another interview for tomorrow though. That gives me two intervi http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-402015.html Moving again. So our two days at super 8 hotel has come to an end. We are switching to an econolodge for the next two days because griffin needs his own bed. He has been driving us crazy because our current room only has one bed. The hotel we stayed at before this he had his own bed and slept on it all night. Our life has been staying in this hotel room and watching movies on our laptop over wifi. We went t http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-401756.html Gah OK. No go on a job yet. Still waiting for the hiring manager to get in contact with me. We are once again going apartment looking today. Yesterday sucked every apartment we looked at was crappy and nasty and they all wanted around 850.00 for a 1 bedroom with all outdated appliances and roaches included If we dont have good luck today its a good possibility we will cut our losses and try som http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-401481.html Finally in Anchorage Sorry things have been incredibly stressed out lately since we have gotten to Anchorage. Between finding jobs apartments etc... I think I have a stomach ulser... anyway hopefully everything goes as planned and we will keep you updated as soon as something happens. There is plenty of free wifi in Anchorage so it shouldnt be a problem. We are turning this profile to private and continuing to p http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Alaska/Anchorage/blog-401225.html Sorry so late So here we are stealing wifi from another closed visitors' center. It is now 1000 PM and it looks like it's noon. We just ate at a place called Boston Pizza that was delicious. Anyways our waitress told us that the sun sets at about 1130 PM and rises at 400 AM right now. She also said that during the summer solstice in June when the sun sets it still looks like dawn and that it's just a http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/Canada/British-Columbia/100-Mile-House/blog-401222.html
