Sesame place is a theme park for kids based on the TV show "Sesame Street" featuring Elmo and his friends. You will find all the characters of Sesame street here, namely, Elmo -the main hero, Big BIrd, Cookie Monster, Zoe, Abby Caddabby, Bert and Ernie and Count Von Count. Sesame place is a smaller (much smaller) version of Disneyland in the sense that it also has rides based on its characters, a parade of the characters at noon and night, and ofcourse, photos with the characters wherever they are found. There are two types of rides - the dry ones and the wet ones. Most rides allow small children when they are accompanied by an adult. That was the good thing, coz Sid was able to come on all the rides with us. We loved the ... read more

The month of July was signed off well. We went to Ipswich River which is about 25 minutes from home. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful rivers on Boston's North Shore and I really cannot deny that. The river is about 30 miles long (No! we dint go the entire length) and is one of the most canoed rivers in Massachusetts. Along the river path are marshlands and wetlands, creating a wonderful ecosystem. The canoeing path starts at the Willowdale Dam, from where you can rent canoes. The good thing is that you can rent the canoe for the entire day (unlike the one hour rentals where you are almost in a hurry to come back within those 60 minutes just so you don’t have to pay extra!). The other good thing ... read more

I liked this place. York's Wild Kingdom comprises of an amusement park and a zoo. The zoo is nice, in the sense that it has a variety of animals (some of which are boring if you are someone from the tropics like the goat, duck etc). But some animals are truly beautiful like some species of monkeys, birds like the toucan, cockatoo and the white tiger. You can even take pictures with some exotic creatures and animals like the snake (icky!) and the elephant. Then again, for someone from India, i thought it was too much to pay $ 15 for a photo with an elephant! The Butterfly garden is another attraction worth visiting. The amusement park is ideal for kids between the ages 2 to 4. The rides are designed for kids of these ages and ... read more

If you have been to a beach in India, beaches here are nothing compared to what we have there. Yet, beaches are special here, because we can enjoy the waters only for three- four months in a year. Our initial plan was to go to Gloucester Beach, but since we didn’t find parking, we drover further along the highway and reached Rockport. Rockport has three or more beaches and we went to one called “front beach". This beach is at a walk-able distance from the Rockport town. Parking is limited near the main town, but the good thing is that the Rockport town provides free parking a little away from the town and also provides shuttle service from the parking lot to the beach. The beach is nice and clean, although a little small compared to ... read more
