Hello all, We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas, we were able to enjoy most of our 32 hour long Christmas. For all of you who have been checking to see if we made it home safe, well we did. We both made it to our homes by 3pm on Christmas Day and we were able to enjoy our family's yummy Christmas dinners. We are both safe, but we didn't manage to stay healthy. Unfortunately, Nick had a fever on the flight back and is still sick and I am a tad bit sick too. Other than that, we [View Full Entry]

Hello All, Merry Christmas to everyone. Nick and I are off to Pari and then back home. We are leaving from our friends house in Israel in less than an hour to board our flight and we are very excited to be home, yet very sad to say bye to our wonderful friends. Sara made us a wonderful Christmas Eve lunch of chilli and yummy pesto tomato cheese dip and pumpkin pie and so we are ready to take on the plane food. Earlier today we got a chance to visit the Temple Mount and visit where God dwelled and Jesus [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone! I hope you are all well and enjoying your first day true day of Christmas vacation. I know I enjoyed mine. Liz and I got up around 9 today and had a very relaxing day since we did both Giza and the Egyptian Museum yesterday. We went down to old Cairo and saw several churches that were built on an old Roman city/fort called Babylon. From there we walked around Cairo and found Liz a McDonalds because she tries to eat at one in every country we visit. We enjoyed the rest of the day just walking around town [View Full Entry]

hey ya'all, Nick and I are safe in Cairo. We had a 15 hour long bus ride due to some delays, we were stuck at the Taba border crossing for over 4 hours. Other than that we had a safe trip. We got to our hotel late last night around 1am and then woke up early at 7am so that we could make it to the pyramids before it got too touristy and too hot. We made it and it was so surreal to actually be in their presence. We got to take a camel ride through the Sahara and the [View Full Entry]

Hello All, Today was another fun filled day in Ya-ru-shalem and we got to go into the city with Sara and the boys to see St. Peter's church (where it is believed that Peter denied Christ three times) and most likely the prison where Jesus stayed, and The Burnt House (which was the lamest thing known to mankind and that only the boys enjoyed). Then they left us and headed home, while Nick and I went to an Archeological Park near where the temple used to be, then we went to the rooftops to see a view of the city from [View Full Entry]

hello all, today was a fun day of tramping all over Jerusalem. Ryan, Liz, and I went through the city and saw some recent archaelogical proof of first temple era. After that we went to the pools of Bethesda and saw the Damascus gate. Ryan left us to go to school and we tried to do the ViaDoloroza, which is the walk of Christ carrying his cross. They actually have groups that carry crosses and sing songs as they walk. It was interesting because the mosque started their prayers right before one of the cross walks started. Both groups were singing [View Full Entry]

So over the last days we have been experiencing a whole lot of Jesus. Its very exciting that in three days we have seen various Jesus locations, staring with Nazareth, where Christ lived as a boy; Galilee, where he hung out with his friends the disciples, and did most of his teaching and ministry; the Mt of Olives, where he came over the hill and wept over (which led me to tears in rememberance of how amazing He is and how He could've decided to show everyone that He is God, but he didn't, for us); Jerusalem, where he prayed in [View Full Entry]

Today was a interesting day. We woke up this morning and enjoyed watching some Christmas cartoons with the boys. From there we started our list of sites to see in Jerusalem. First, at a small plaza, we got a great overview of the city and the sights we would see. We spent the morning on the Mount of Olives seeing such sites as the garden of Gethsemane, Mary's supposed tomb, the grotto where Jesus left his disciples before praying, and a church where Jesus supposedly wept looking over Jerusalem. From there, we explored Ryan's school while he took a quiz. The [View Full Entry]

So it has been two days since we've arrived in Jerusalem and we have seen a lot and we've already gone to my most favorite place (which I will tell you all about last). Yesterday we arrived in Jerusalem at 1am after Ryan kindly picked us up from the TelAviv airport in his rental car (which he rented for the weekend). As Nick told you, we got to see Jerusalem from a car point of view and at night and it was really eye-opening to the fact that we were actually in the Middle East and no longer in that little [View Full Entry]

hi everyone, well since I am writing this blog you can guess that Liz and I got to Israel safely. We had a wonderful first flight to France. We went into the city and enjoyed the cathedral of Notre Dame. We walked past the Lourve, saw the giant Grande Arc de Defense, and took pictures next to the Arc de Triumphe. I will say I am quite disappointed with how expensive Paris was. Just to walk under the Arc de Triumphe was 5 euros a person so we were unfortunately unable to do that, but for a 7 hour layover we [View Full Entry]
