My parents are guilty for having me exposed to the travel bug's bite at an early age. "We are adventurers!", my dad used to say. The infection became a cronic affection. Out of 32 states of México, my homeland, I've visited 31. Beyond, I've been to 44 countries, 4 colonial territories and two funny micronations (the Vatican State and the Hutt River Principality) in all five inhabited continents. The 20 or so last entries correspond to the round-the-world trip I did between April 2005 and March 2007, though I still need to add its South American part. Lazy writer I am. Antarctica is a dear project. I love nature and wild life, but as a journalist, my main interest are the peoples of our Earth, their problems and, in particular, their struggle to overcome them. Life is not only made of those terrible things filling the headlines. Women and men are trying hard to make it better. That's the inspiration we need to follow suit.

La Antártida es un proyecto para un futuro cercano. Me encantan la naturaleza y la vida salvaje pero, como periodista, mi interés principal son los pueblos de la Tierra, sus problemas y, en especial, sus luchas por superarlos. La vida no está hecha tan solo de las cosas terribles que llenan los titulares. Hay mujeres y hombres que trabajan duro por mejorarla. Ellos son la inspiración que necesitamos.
