| 20th December 2009 Teman | - From: SHILLONG GAMBLING ARCHERY SPORT Thank you for comments. I think in April and March every year you have this Tulip gardens open in Lisee village. I am not sure about once in 12 year shows. regards, ken |
| 20th December 2009 Teman | Thank you for pointing it out - From: SHILLONG GAMBLING ARCHERY SPORT Thnak you for pointing the mistake. I might be wrong in saying so for some areas but in general after 6 life is dead in India where as in western world personal life start after 6 ! I am an Indian as well ! I really think arranged marriages are doing more harm than good to young women. It forces people into marriage. Dowry is a direct result of that. Ill treatment of women by in-laws. Hording of gold in every houseold in India rise the prices up. Familys keep saving money for the daughters dowry instead of enjoying life like the western parents do by going on holidays every year, retire in dignity etc. I would call arranged marriages might have started in good faith but in reality it has become harmful for lot of young women. Hope the new-wave culture in Bangalore will spread to the rest of India. There, young people will choose their own partners in life and go forward. That will bring lot of young girls out into town after 6 like in western world. Life will be lively and beautiful. In Bangalor it is. Only wish the same for the rest of India. regards, ken |
| 18th December 2009 sridatri | A humble protest - From: SHILLONG GAMBLING ARCHERY SPORT Hi Teman, I have read some of your travel blogs and have seen the spectacular photographs posted by you and liked them too. But the commnet made by you in this post "In rest of India - due to arranged marriages, no woman could be seen anywhere in town after 6 !!!" made me SHOCKED. I think you should get to know India a little bit more before making such biased and irresponsible comments. I really don't know why no one ever protested in this issue before me. |
| 16th December 2009 Krishna Kanth | Simply great! & Absolutely fantastic! - From: keukenhof Tulip Garden Great Work! Keukenhof is undoubtedly one of the best places on the planet. I shall be grateful if u can keep fwding snaps related to this garden as frequently as possible. Is it true that a special flower show takes place here once in every 12 years? What's the best season to visit it? I understand that tulips don't bloom all the year around |

| 10th December 2009 Teman | - From: Kempfort Shiva temple Hi vs, I agree with you. Quietness far better than jarring music in a temple. Hope the temple authorities will see this and make some amends. regards, Teaman |
| 27th November 2009 Shanti | request to keep the volume of bajans low - From: Kempfort Shiva temple Hi, Can u kindly request the concerned authorities to keep the volume of bhajans little low, i dont mind mangalarthi being slightly loud. Mondays , it has to be low since it continues till the midnight.Barring the sound the temple looks awesome. Calm atmosphere has more effect on people who come to pray. |
| 23rd November 2009 X | Loud noise all the time - From: Kempfort Shiva temple I recently shifted my house very very near to Shiva temple. I get a clear view of the temple which i think it is my luck to stay in such a locality, I have become an ardent devotee of that temple. I immensly like the "shiva gayathri slokas" played at low tone in the mornings every day , which is really refreshing and like a booster to start the day with. But later through out the day the bajans sung in the tune of hindi film songs spoils the whole effect. There are times the sound is too much to bear. There are people who are sick and old , there are students who is preparing for their exams, there are people who come back in the evenings too tired after a day's work .For them the sound is little too much, they may wish to have relatively quiet evenings. It would be greatful if the temple authorities look in to this matter and keep the volume little low. |

| 28th September 2009 pramoth kumar.M | maha shivji and maha ganapathi. - From: Kempfort Shiva temple being an tipical hindu comunity, I observed some ethical mistake of shivji's sculpture. Mistake. number (one) the hands position says that shivji in "thapas" which means the eyes should be in closed condition. ( two) If the god seeing his devoties means one hand should be in ' aashirvad" blessing possition as Lord Ganesha. (three) normally gods do "thapas" in original appearence. that is two hands, one head, and two eyes. please note not with three eyes. Please understand after the complition of His " thapas" the first vision ( what ever appears right on his sight) will get ash. through this statue we unable to come to the conclusion that the devoties are comming to take the ashirva or just to see his thapas.....? Ganesha |

| 11th October 2005 Nikhil Upadhyaya | Truly a Divine Experience!! - From: Kempfort Shiva temple I used to stay very near this spectacular temple and in my view the Shiva idol is just awesome! If one looks closely at Shiva's face, a keen observer can almost see Shiva's mood reflections.Somtimes he is angry or sometimes smiling. I have always felt Shiva's presence whenever I have been around this idol. |
| 9th October 2005 sunitha | - From: Kempfort Shiva temple it's true that the shiva temple in kempfort is awesome. But whether the shopping mall (just in front of the temple) has taken the beauty away from the temple is to be considered. |

| 10th September 2005 kanchana | Magnificent - From: Kempfort Shiva temple My brother took us to this beautiful Shiva temple in August of 2004, it was our highlight of our trip. My daughter and I were spellbound, we felt that we were in kailash and closer to the lord himself. Eversince i have been recommending my U.S friends to keep this as one of their important agenda when they tour around India. What a wonderful gift to humanity. |

| 15th July 2005 Clinton Vaz | A Goan's Viewpoint of your article. - From: Charming Goa Hi, I'm Clinton Vaz, a young naturalist who has lived in Goa all my life. I read about your holiday in Goa and have a few corrections for your article: 1. The crocodiles you saw at the croc trip were 'Mugger Crocodiles' and are not as dangerous as you were informed! In fact, its perfectly safe to swim in the river they live in and there NEVER has been any deaths due to a croc attack in Goa. 2. The toe of St. Francis Xavier was bitten off by a lady, (she wanted to know if it was a real body or not) but it happned in the 18th century, and not at the last exposition. Preservatives were used to preserve the relics. 3. Souza Lobo at Calangute is known among locals as the most racist restaurant by the beach. I have been there twice and have been ignored and abused by the staff. I don't recommend anybody going there. -Clinton Vaz klintvaz@gmx.net 3. |
