The Beauty of It All Europe » United Kingdom » England
It really does not matter the time of day. I often seem to find myself wrapped up in a flurry of blankets, a steaming cup of tea at my side day dreaming out my balcony doors just letting my thoughts run free into the soft rain that seems to silence everything around me. There really is no other way to describe it other than that it is truly wonderful. My hand aches for a pen as my head is swarming with thoughts that seem to precious not to scratch into the leather bound journal at my bedside table. These days seem [View Full Entry]

Bikkkkke Lane Europe » United Kingdom » England
Woke up to a lovely beautifully sunny day, shocking. You never really know here as sometimes it will be blue skies and all of a sudden hurricane Katrina will come out of no where for five minutes. Not too much like sunny san diego, but Mitch and I both love it for some reason. I guess we have been rain deprived. We are really loving having the bikes as we are getting places in more than half the time. However, it is kind of scary biking to class because you can’t bike on the sidewalks as one elderly British woman [View Full Entry]

This is the life.. Europe » United Kingdom » England
It was the first day of school today. Woke up to a beautiful cloudy sky, and as we began our journey to school the sun was peaking through. It feels so nice to walk to school wrapped in a scarf and a jacket with your little lover next to you, its probably quite pathetic watching Mitch and I just roll down the road to school, two fat little balls of joy. The classes were so different than what I was/am used to as it was classes no bigger than five. Both of my English classes were tiny, two and three people. [View Full Entry]

A Crossing Bridge

Oxfordshire The hours really fly by here and it is hard to keep a timely journal as we are constantly in motion. It is now Tuesday and I have not written in the past 2 days, very unlike me. On Sunday we had our orientation which was pretty basic and informational. The school seems like it will be very conducive with our many travel plans…as in NO SCHOOL LETS TRAVEL. No but seriously mom and dad, we will study and learn…while we are on the trains traveling from country to country of course. During orientation we got more familiar with a [View Full Entry]

Oxford... Europe » United Kingdom
We both woke up with butterflies in our stomach as it was finally the day when we go to Oxford. All these months of anticipation and wondering were finally going to be satisfied in a matter of hours. Jeremy was so sweet and drove us all the way to Oxford which saved us a good sixty or seventy dollars each plus a ton of hassle because we both over packed like crazy. Stupid Americans. When we arrived into Oxford I think chiming bells went off and little fat angels flew around our heads, it was amazing. The city itself is not [View Full Entry]

Cloudy but Lovely Europe » United Kingdom » England
We awoke to a cloudy, overcast day, which seems to be typical around here; I am not quite sure why the weather channel is always on in the shops when it is the exact same thing each day. This morning we enjoyed a tradition “English breakfast.” Our hosts brought out a yummy cup of tea and toast. Sounds great, right? It was. It was good. Then they brought out I guess what you would call, the traditional part. Our plate consisted of baked beans, tomato halves, fatty half-cooked bacon, toast fried in grease, and grease soaked fried egg to go with [View Full Entry]

Bournemouth Cathedral

Today was the day that Mitch has been waiting for…the air show at Bournemouth. I have to admit I was not that excited for it when we were in the states, but there is something about being in England…you are excited for anything and everything, even if that means sitting in a pile of sand straining your neck to watch airplanes fly over your head for 5 hours. For me, it is almost worth it just because of Mitch’s reaction. They are priceless. Anytime he hears the deep thwop thwop thwop of a plane he runs out of whatever shop or [View Full Entry]

Can you find Mitch?
Unbelievable

Oh my gosh these days are amazing, exhausting, long/short at the same time, and just plain unbelievable. It is really unlike any experience Mitch or I have ever had…the independence, the unfamiliarity, and the all the different cultures. a bit too much to handle at times. On Mitch’s birthday, we got an early start on the day and started the morning off with some delicious cereal. Ha. It is about all that is in our budget at the moment and for the remainder of the trip. We are really getting a hang of the train systems and could almost pass for [View Full Entry]

St. Paul's Cathederal
The Beefeater

Well our journey definitely did not start out as we had planned it. Of course I got the sinus infection from hell, as that never seems to fail. On top of that I got this major toothache problem from the crown that Dr. Hensley had put on a few days prior. Needless to say, I am and will be extremely bitter for days to come. Mitch and I left on Sunday night rather than on Thursday night, but we did get to spend those extra days in Maine and it was absolutely glorious. Mitch may have totaled over 50 or [View Full Entry]
