I remember this good friend i met while traveling in the north of Laos asking me in a funny way what was it that i enjoyed the most of not having a permanent address, i laughed first, then the first thought that came to my mind was simply the pleasure of living on a timeless zone for the most part, not knowing if it is tuesday or saturday, Sunday or Thursday, 3 o'clok or 11:30, the fact is that putting chronological time on my days takes the fun out of them, somehow in the past, i recall developing some conditioned ways of behaving and thinking according to the day and time it was; i used to dislike Sundays very much for being the typical church plus soccer madness days, but sundays were sundays nothing wrong with ... read more

....I haven't done a great job writing on this blog and giving news lately but i will try to share a little bit what went on for the past 3 months in Australia, I got so many things to say that i find myself at a loss for words & a bit spaced out when i try to write about these things that i saw, experienced and felt at different moments thru this last journey...... ......to begin with, i have to say Melbourne is an incredible vibrant city, absolutely artistic & alternative, full of beautiful luscious parks, street art, hidden bars & cafes in some of the city's famous laneways, some neighborhoods carry funny chic names such as Windsor, Preston, Carlton, etc...There's an evident difference between Northern & Southern neighborhoods in Melbourne, In the north, there's ... read more

Malaysia with no doubt surprised me specially after sleeping between buses & trains during 3 days coming all the way from the little hill tribe village in the North of Thailand where i was living & studying massage to this multi-cultural overwhelming city populated by Malays, Chinese & Indians to say the least because there's many many more ethnicities that undoubtedly add up to the flavor of this country...compared to the other countries i visited in South East Asia, it somehow felt that this place remained quite undiscovered and that the majority of travelers (including myself) used it only as a quick stop over to jump to the next destination.... Anyways, there is about 1.5 million people living here, first thing that stroke me when entering the city on the bus was the huge architectural monuments ... read more

...It has been about 6 weeks of living and learning traditional thai-yoga massage at Lahu tribe village (Bang Muang Noi) some 65 Km from Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand. We were picked up in the city and taken in the back of some trucks to this little place...at first we were taken for a walk to get to know the surroundings, first thing that caught my attention was the multi-functional public shower with pure water coming from up the mountain and where everything related to it was possible: showering, brushing teeth, doing laundry, cleaning up dishes, etc....Most things are ok apparently except for showing off your knees...that's too sexy in this tribe, though women can shower in public topless and that's normal ;-) ...I dig it!!!...let's all get naked and just cover our knees ... read more

.....WOW!!! It's being almost a month in Khmer land... time went by really fast.... I ran down all the way from North to South of Laos - 27 hrs in total to cross to Cambodian territory....I left that beautiful piece of heaven: Luang Prabang, totally recovered, full of energy, and with lots of different kinds of paper to continue working on this little project: making envelopes, postcards and little paintings for selling to other travelers on the road.... ....I had heard few impressions about Cambodia from other travellers but overall i did not have a clue what to expect....I took the first bus from Luang Prabang (North Laos) to Vientiane (Lao Capital 11 hrs); which is one of the most scenery and amazing bus rides, fortunately i got my Cambodian Visa the same day, then took ... read more

....It's been two weeks since i left Vientiane and moved up north to Luang Prabang, something was telling me that i had to come back to this magical place....I don't know if it is the stunning glittery wats, the orange robed monks walking in the streets holding their black umbrellas, the colorful nightly hmong tribe market selling Lao textiles, colorful mulberry paper lamps, traditional medicine (like cobra snakes in bottles for Reumatism), the shuttered mansions along the old streets or the fact that this old city is between two beautiful rivers "Nam Khan & Mekong" filled with plenty of coconut palm trees and fisherman, this place has an enchanting atmosphere.... This is my second time in Luang Prabang, everything tastes so much better now, i took things a lot easier as i was recovering from a ... read more
