Finding Your Hotel in Venice
I had to laugh when I read your description of trying to find your accomodation in Venice because it mirrored mine so closely. I also had a map which was very confusing and walked in circles for about 2 hours until I FINALLY found the hotel... not because I actually FOUND it, but because I just happened to glance out of the corner of my eye and catch a glimpse of the hotel sign down an alley! Of course once I knew where the hotel was I realized that it was only about a 2 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge! I think guidebooks need to have a special warning... something like "Even if the map says your hotel is 'steps from the Rialto Bridge' be sure to allow at least 4 hours of walking time to get there."

Fantastic !!!
Only just got to see your travel blogg, what a apic adventure! You sure have a talent putting this hole thing together. The photo's and your story, magnificent and a great piece of education for someone like me who has never visited Italy. Although I was born in Europa (Netherland) is choose different countries for Holiday's and work. It was only after I immigrated and returned after 12 years I realisted the magnificent historical beauty of the "Old Country" It's great to see you having this great adventure, how enriching. I believe you are near the end of your trip there make the most of it and see you back at work. Lia Verbunt

Ciao Bella!
Hey Jane! Thanks... we are part of eachother of course, so I know you understand how I feel and how important this is. I hope Mum will be not too disappointed that I havent found any more than this. Hopefully by the next visit we will have an address to work with. When I return to Australia I will write to the archives. It would be wonderful if it was you (or the both of us) who finally is able to make contact with existing family in Italy. Love you heaps, Cath xxxxxxxxxx PS I havent heard or had contact at all with Judy.

Hi Cathy, I cant sleep thinking about you not sleeping because of this bastard.assuming that he was the thief I.e. The so called massage therapist.he obviously does this for a living and you would not have been his first victim so perhaps he could be lured into doing another massage and nabbed again .the police need to be involved more. How did you get him in the first place. Surely you can give this information to the police for them to follow through.do you have someone with you you could trust to be with you if you lured him back for a second massage. Cut his balls off for me whilst you are at it. This would be risky on your own. But you could threaten to dob him in If he didn't give back your property. That is if you are sure it was him. Could he have done all this stealing while you had your face down? Oh I hope this whole fiasco isn't spoiling your holiday. Write to me if you can.love jane

Im really sorry to hear about the prick who not only abused you but also took your jewellery. I feel devasted for you and so pissed off that this has happened.Have you heard anything from the police about it.would you recognise the arse wipe if you saw him again. Lifes lessons can be tough to bear but we do become wiser for them if nothing else.trust no one it would seem. On a lighter note, Tom says "ruff" and "hurry home mum as Georgia is driving me insane. But I am a good boy and having myself. Oh and I love chasing the chooks away.they know now that this is my town and there is only room for me and emma, I made sure of that" I hope things have picked up for you and you are still enjoying yourself.lots of love the Paynes in the arse and Jane.

Hiya Susie
Thanks Susie, must have taken a while to read it all at once. Not quite finished yet though. Still another two weeks to go. I'm looking forward to relaxing on the cruise. I bet you had a ball in NT. I'm just leaving Orvieto, the lovliest walled-town so far in my opinion. Catching a train to Rome so must go now. Not every day any of us could say that! Love you heaps, chat soon, Cath xxx

Well it sounds as though you are having a wonderful experience. Have just finished showing the pictures to Geoff and letting him read your very interesting comments. Have you done any more research!?????? No, of course not, you are on holiday and so you should enjoy. I think it is very exciting and I have just shared with my youngest daughter, Martine, who was over there last year - she said it sounds really very exciting and wishes she was back there, too. You must be about half way through your trip - just enjoy every day because it will be home time in no time at all. Sorry!! Talk to you soon - yes did get your email and thank you for the compliment about being great researchers - we try to please. All good wishes, Diane.
