Tarara

....Lady T, tiara, tarara, tips, TJ, targey, tararabomdiaaaaeee (did her knickers really fly away...hhmmmm?), shiny gubbins.....even slaaaaaggggg!!!!! (sorry if the latter nick name has caused offence to anyone (ie, mums, dads, inlaws etc) but there's no time for personal emails and so these round robin blogs have to cover all those bits about you that some friends and family may not yet know about...!!!!...so after one hell of a rollercoaster, I am packing up my troubles in my old kit bag in true 'cor blimey' styley and heading off on an African adventure, 'big brother on wheels' from Kenya to Cape Town in 39 nights and 40 days starting from Wednesday 26th September, then who knows what will become of me! I've packed up the carpenters and dolly song sheets in a bid to make friends but am sure that the biggest bonding session will come with a few ching chingalings which will lead to me dressing up boys in ladies clothes, introducing them to a dj coriander and having a thoroughly naughty inuendo-filled carry-on cape town time... I am so blessed to have such amazing friends and you will be in my thoughts constantly...this is the scariest, yet most exciting thing I have ever done....and if I can actually manage to work the bladdy camera and download pics you will get to see my adventure with me, otherwise it will have to be good old fashioned smoke signals...sending so much love, hugs and happiness to you all, love love love love love xxxxxxxxxx

Days 20/21 15th/16th October Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe... We arrive in Victoria Falls and head straight to Shearwater which is the company that you book all your adventures with...ok, so we've booked a walk with the elephants, a helicopter ride over the falls and wait for it a bungee jump...yes I've gone completely mad and am taking on anything and everything that makes me feel alive....I am absolutely bricking it, but in my new world something has got hold of me and is telling to do it so at 9.16 precisely tomorrow morning, 17th October (Anderooooo this is for you big bro, I know you'll appreciate this daring feat from me, a birthday treat of Tarara throwing herself off of one of the 7 wonders in the world!!!) Day 16 and 17 (11th and 12th Oct)Zambia - South Luangwa National Park, ZambiaUp at about 5am, the usual it seems and we head from Malawi across the border into Zambia, a very very long rough ride along unmade roads, definitely shakes dem bones! We've been warned that at the camp where we are staying, elephants and hippos roam freely, especially at night! We pitched our tents, had dinner, then got ready for bed, we had to be escorted to our tents by wardens with big torches....er, we're thinking that the rumours about wild life may actually be true.... on the first night i heard a few bits of rustling but nothing too frightening, so just slept through but the second night was completely different.... at 1.30am Sarah woke me up in a fit of excitement, ... read more

Day 12/13/14 7th/8th/9th October Head through the border from Tanzania to Lake Malawi - Chiweta a long journey... day 13 Chiweta Woke up after breakfast and went for a walk along the beach with Amanda...we met up with some gorgeous kids, 5 little boys, two of them brothers. It was mothers day today in Malawi so they were off school, one of the kids said they didn't have a mum.... god these kids were so happy to just come and make friends with us, walk with us, teach us their language and simply play...and I love the way they just automatically hold your hand - their smiles are magical - out of this world. They consume the pleasure of meeting a new person, someone completely different to them - you can almost feel the energy being ... read more

2/3 October days 6/7/8? Zanzibar - Stone town - North Coast This all seems like a blur now, so i'm trying to remember dates and what I did etc, but my head is in a bit of a spin.... The crossing on the ferry over to Zanzibar island was pukesville(!) I just sat as still and quiet as possible and concentrated until we got there.. On approaching the island the beaches looked amazing, long stretches of pure white sand and turquoise waters - breathtaking - can't believe i'm here! Once at the lodge, we head off on a spice tour, I thought it may be a bit boring, but in fact it was great. seeing everything growing in it's own environment, weird and wonderful fruits such as the custard apple, sort of looks like a prickly ... read more

....ok.....deep breath...in with the good, out with the bad....arrrggggghhhh, I have just been sitting at the computer writing this blog for two hours....after two weeks of trying to actually find somewhere to do it and the bladdy thing has gone and lost the lot...... I am therefore trying to tell myself that this is all meant to be and that it's probably a greater god that is telling me that you lot didn't really want to hear me going on and on and on and on and on and on about animals and random shenanigans that won't mean a thing to you.... so what I'm now going to try and do is go for a kind of photo diary instead... on the plus side, I am sitting on a computer in the middle of a game ... read more
