I've been to Amboseli once, and yes, it is a breathtaking place...backdrop of the Kilimanjaro, this is a home for the gods. I'm surprised you didn't mention where you stayed...but I'll help you on that one. My 3 days at Amboseli and I stayed at the Ol Tukai Lodge. I found the lodge set on an amazingly beautiful landscape, an oasis in the expansive African wildlife plain. The staff were completely friendly, made our safari a true adventure. We could view all sorts of animals, mostly elephants, right from our room and outside just a stone throw away. Felt completely awesome. Takes you back to nature...you get lost in time. The food at Ol Tukai was also amazing. Oh, and the Kilimanjaro...awesome views in the sunrise and sunset at this awesome mountain. Just everything amazing. Its just the place to be. We also visited Sopa Lodges, a nice Lodge and a great ride through the Amboseli. Kenya is just amazing. Totally. |

That pic of rach on the cushions looks so much like the hotel we stayed at, although I'm sure there's probable lots of similar looking hotels. It sounds like you're having so much fun, I wish I could be there with you! Hopefully within the next 12 to 18 months I will be able to get back over to Europe and finish the trip that I started in 2000. I put my discharge in again (despite being on operation in Timor at the moment) so hopefully I will have better luck this time and maybe I'll be back in Canberra before you know it!
