Dear all We are in a dialup internet cafe and rather slow..... Hre in Amed, on the east coast of bali. We have spent 5 extremely relaxing days here with nothing to do but watch the sea from our balcony, go snorkelling from the beach, go for dinner and repeat! It is lovely here and very rural and unspoilt. It is very much how we imagine South Bali must have been many years ago. It is pretty close to paradise. A great wayto end our trip. Hi all Back to second blog - we can access the other blogsite but cannot now sign in for some reason - ahh global communication - sometimes less than global. Unfortunately we cannot upload any photos at the moment either. We are currently in Sanur, a small seaside resort in the south of Bali. Its smaller than Kuta and very quiet and relaxing. Our first week was spent in quite a large resort hotel in South Kuta which was lovely but vast. Here we are staying in a much smaller hotel called the Mentari Sanur. Hi All Back to this blog site as the other one isn't working here. Ho hum. We are in Beijing and have spent a very pleasurable few days seeing all the sights. Beijing is lovely, no pollution , lots of parks and green spaces and of course the Great Wall (well, a few kilometres away). A couple of days ago we went to the wall and did a 10km hike from Jinshanling to Simatai all along the wall. Hi everyone, a new blog as the co.uk one won;t work here. No idea why. Anyway time is racing for us, we are now in Xian, have been to Shanghai and Hangzhou and now here. China is quite a crazy place - very hard to describe. Noisy, chaotic, charming, exasperating, unexpected, full of surprises. Great food! Will write more when I know this works! Ok, now I know it works, we can update some more phots. Hope you enjoy them. Terractoa army was fantastic, really great. We also saw Chinese acrobats in Shanghai,they were fantastic, jaw droppigly good. Whats not so good is the spitting in the streets, not so much in Shanghai but in Xian its done with full commitment and vigour. Off on the overnight sleeper to Pingyao next. Should be interesting.
