| 29th May 2007 Neil | Voting for bloggers - From: You will have to wait a little longer Dad, no question. No offence to your writing, T, but a guest star livens the blog up (Paulie did such a good job), and I have no doubt that his views on Malawi will be hilarious. I'm not sure you should let Mum guest when she goes out there, it might take all day to read ;-p xx |
| 28th May 2007 Wife and mother | who writes the blog - From: You will have to wait a little longer I think you should both write the blog. but mainly you Tamsin. When I asked Leigh on the phone what Malawi was like - he said very nice then was stuck for words so his blog would be rather short!! Miss you both. |
| 18th May 2007 Tamsin's mummy | well done Paul - From: Ukamas to Jburg Really enjoyed your input Paul and glad you have enjoyed your action packed holiday. for what it is worth before I became a 'Sebba' I had done very little adventurous anything. As a sebba I have learnt to paraglide, ski, horse ride and even weld!! |

| 7th May 2007 T's mum | Names and things - From: Cintza to Coffee Bay Very amusing entry. Was your horse really called Spirt or was it Spirit - which ever makes for amusing retirement comment. Tamsin looks like she is pulling the reins much too tight on her galloping pose _Penny Baker would have a fit(our local horse expert) In Costa Rica they didn't have bits at all just ropes round their nose (I don't think my terminology is quite right!!) and they were really responsive and we didn't hurt their mouths. What is the story with the dog behind you Paul in your surf picture? Or is he just a passerby? Keep up the good work! |
| 5th May 2007 T's mum | Brave 'Paulie' - From: Diving Well done Paul for trying all these 'extreme' sports with Tamsin. Hope you managed to enjoy the holiday as well!! |
| 2nd May 2007 lamlee | Knysna - From: Kloofing! Nysner is pronounced that way but spelt Knysna A Kloof is and Afrikaans word meaning valley, but has now been taken into South African English to mean a narrow, steep sided valley, that usually has rock pools along it. (well, thats my interpretation anyway) |
| 2nd May 2007 T's mummy | sculpture - From: Ostrich Riding When I looked at the first photo I thought Oh Tamsin is holding a real ostrich but I wish she had taken a close up of the sculpture behind. Then when I blew it up I saw both were bronze. Thanks for that. What is the weight allowance for an ostrich. I wonder if it is similar to a lleama as their legs look similar. Keep up the good work Paul. Not a menu in sight!! |
| 2nd May 2007 Stella | Plet! - From: Kloofing! I spent a month in Plet! If you visit the elephants sanctury they were my old neighbours so say hello! You can dive from the big hotel in Plet which is what i did, but i heard Knysner is better. Hope you have fun! |
| 1st May 2007 Tamsin's mummy | Penguins - From: Cape Point to Swellingham Aah, I love them. I would like a beach hut where you had penguins standing around. Are they friendly? Looking forward to MORE detail. (I don't mind not knowing what you had to eat.) |
| 1st May 2007 Tamsin's mum | Food tour - From: Paul arrives in South Africa I think I know more about what Tamsin had to eat and drink round the world than any other detail. Thought should leave comment as we have a new author. I thought Nelson Mandela's cell was your hotel room when I first read the entry!! |

| 4th April 2007 DDLL | Silly comment - From: Chobe National park I thought leopards had their spots naturally. I didn’t realise they are spotted by tourists. Do you use some sort of paint gun ? (Sorry) |
| 21st March 2007 Tamsin | No sleeves - From: Minh's Motorbike Tour Day 1 I put on a long sleeves when on the bike- to protect from sun aswell as fall. |
| 19th March 2007 DDLL | Viernam War - From: Cu Chi Tunnels Simplistically I think the USA had a policy of stopping 'the spread of Communism'. In UK the anti war protest movemnent was huge with a massive march to the USA Embassy in London in 1968. Also many 'pop' songs were anti Vietnam war. The following is 'sarcastic' words of a song - Come on all of you big strong men Uncle Sam needs your help again he's got himself in a terrible jam way down yonder in Viet Nam so put down your books and pick up a gun we're gonna have a whole lotta fun (CHORUS) And it's one, two, three, what are we fighting for don't ask me I don't give a damn, next stop is Viet Nam And it's five, six, seven, open up the pearly gates ain't no time to wonder why, whoopee we're all gonna die Come on generals, let's move fast your big chance has come at last now you can go out and get those reds cos the only good commie is the one that's dead and you know that peace can only be won when we've blown 'em all to kingdom come |
| 19th March 2007 DDLL (concerned parent) | Safe ? - From: Minh's Motorbike Tour Day 1 Glad that you survived the bike (if not the driver !). Glad to see the helmet but not so happy about the sleeveless arms which would have been a bit of a mess in a fall. |

| 7th March 2007 DDLL | Various - just to show I've read it all - From: Hanoi and Halong Bay Wednesday seems a busy day. Why would they sell you a visa for a date 6 months previous. Saturday - you missed the most important info - who was playing in the football match ? 200 days gone - 120 to go...... |
| 7th March 2007 Mum | photographs - From: Hanoi and Halong Bay Are you dong something different with the photos -when I double click on them they are staying small whch means they are poor quality when I try to download them. Not good if you want me to save them. |
| 5th March 2007 Beryl | Very interesting - From: Hanoi and Halong Bay I've just caught up with your latest journals Tamsin and am really impressed with all you've done. Your photos are great. Don't know how you find the time or the places to do all the writing. Enjoy. |
| 4th March 2007 Ian and Pam | The Horrors and St Ethelburga's - From: Horrors Yes, it is sad that man's inhumanity to man did not stop in 1945 but has carried on rippling from continent to continent. Pam and I agree that the only response is one of thanks to have the good fortune to be born where we were and when we were. Pam and I are currently talking to Leigh and Iris about getting a sculpture called 'Thornflower' cast to stand in St Ethelburga's Church in the City (rebuilt after the second IRA bomb destroyed it and now a Centre for Reconciliation and Peace) in memory of your grandparents and Pam's parents. The sculpture is by Charlotte Salmon who I know from the School of Meditiation whose grandmother was murdered in Treblinka. I don't suppose the German people have any more idea than the Cambodian people 'why' these horrors erupt or the Russians understand Stalin. Ideologies and religions certainly sometimes seem to magnify rather than reduce them. This is most remarkable when all the Traditional Religions from Anabaptism to Zoroastrianism have peace at their heart. We hope you also find the peace and the tranquillity of the temples of Cambodia, that is no less a part of reality. Love and stay safe Pam and Ian |
