Hi Anna I am enjoying your blog - thanks :) We are off to Vietnam in 8weeks. I am thinking of hiring a scooter on Cat Ba too but have never rode one! Are they actual scooters or motorbikes and are they easy to drive? I don't want to wreck myself or more important - my daughter who would be riding behind me....Would we be crazy to hire them???? thanks Maggie Have fun!

Kohle, You guys seem to be having a great start to your trip. I gave Olivia one of your foot massages (sans the jewels, didn't know that part yet/not sure I will be sharing that w/ O)...I kept yarding on her arm and staring deep into her eyes as I did it. We both had quite laugh. m

I think I was on that exact same boat tour cruise thing!!!! I remember, and to help my hazy drunken memories have photos of, the styrofoam bar with the fake flowers in it. As I recall the red wine was revolting but lethal. and Why Not bar?? Yeah, I can attest to exactly why not. oi. xox
