Our first leg of the journey brought us quickly through Northern New Mexico stopping in Taos at the historic Pueblo and the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge while dodging a few rainstorms in the afternoon. We found a decent camping spot near Eagles Nest in the Emerald Circle drive where we spent a fairly cold first night. By the next afternoon we were in Southern Colorado where over the next day or two we visited the Great Sand Dunes, the Sangre De Cristo Mountain range, and Pike's Peak to end up in Colorado Springs.
