Hello All, this is Sunday July 6 , 2008 We are in a tiny village called Drymen, on the eastern side of Loch Lomond. It is so remote that there is no internet service, so I thought I would do it in a word document and I’ll send it tomorrow when we get to the island of Islay, pronounced Ilee. So, we left Edinburgh this morning and headed east, to the tiny village of Saint Andrews. But they did have an attraction, so golf course that Sarah wanted to go to. It’s called “The Old Course” at St. Andrews. Amazing!!!!!!!! An [View Full Entry]

Hello All, Sorry it has been a couple days since I'm made an entry, but the outer islands and some of the rural areas have yet to hear of the internet. I'm heading to bed in a few minutes, but I did want to say hi and let you know I am still surviving in one of the most beautiful countries I have ever explore. The people are kind and friendly, the roads are good, and especially every thing is so clean. There is no litter on the side of the road, the toilets are all clean, there is no smoking [View Full Entry]

Arrauchoc Castle

Wow, Edinburgh is an amazing city. We rolled in about 6:30pm. The sun has actually been shining all day. Awesome, but am I really in Britannia? Found a fabulous hotel/converted Manor house, only a half mile from the Castle. The trip here was more or less uneventful. Chad was driving like a madman. He thought we were traveling at 100 kmh, but in fact we were doing 100 mph. Just a little difference. I wondered how we were making such good time . The countryside is beautiful. As we began to ascend into the Midlands the temperature began to drop and [View Full Entry]

Greeting all. Well now I think we are in the UK. Rain, wind, cold. Typical day. We slept in this morning and missed breakfast at the hotel. So we went to an area called Grassmarket. It was the site of the 14th century market place for the city. It is located just at the base of the castle. While we were enjoying our lunch the rain started and the wind started to blow. After burgers and beers we started the cold wet journey to the Castle. It was so cold and wet that the doorman at a hotel sold Sarah his [View Full Entry]

Hi all, We finally made it to at least London. Haven't made it to Scotland, but will hit the road in the am and head for the highlands. There were missed flight, cancelled flights, delayed flights. I've been in the same clothes for days. But I'm rejoined with my luggage, although the airlines broke my good Samsonite hardshell suitcase. I may have to look for another for the the return trip. A softside one this time. Flying in tonight was gorgeous. The London sky was clear and we flew right over the Eye, Westminster, Parliment and Big Ben. We are staying [View Full Entry]

Here's the announcement that Chad, Sarah, and Big T are heading across the pond together. Check in frequently for addition to this blog. I'm not sure what the availability of broadband will be in the Highlands of Scotland. I will do my best to keep this updated at least every couple days. [View Full Entry]
