| 8th August 2009 Liz | This is great! - From: Journey to health - The big non-secret Congrats! You couldn't possibly make it sound better or more appealing .. god knows I'm awful at not watching what I eat, but thankfully I'm active enough that it hasn't (yet) taken a bad toll on me. I'm checking out some of the links you posted, I love reading stuff like this and this was no exception! Keep up the good work and one day I'll have to join you guys on the bike ride!! :) |
| 8th August 2009 Marcia | Great info! - From: Journey to health - The big non-secret I loved the way you explained your weight loss. So true. I printed out your world famous lasagna recipe and I'll share it with you. I've lost weight sooooo many times I think I've ruined my metabolism. I've promised myself I won't "diet" anymore but I'm going to evaluate calories and amounts of food. Counting calories may be my missing link. Thanks Suzanne for all the reminders of success in losing weight. I'll have to rev up my discipline!! |
| 8th August 2009 Teresa Karr | Ride to Concord - From: Journey to health - The big non-secret Hi Suzanne! Wow...I love your blog! Let me know when you ride to Concord and you can stop by for a healthy lunch outside! Keep uo the great work. I am forwarding your "Journey" to a niece! Teresa |

| 11th July 2009 Dave Laughlin | - From: Journey to health Your story...we could all fill in our own names in many of your situations. Good that you have taken this turn for the "better" and given us all a bit of good example. Dave |
| 10th July 2009 Lyndsey | Congratulations! - From: Journey to health I'm so proud of you! I struggle with weight and the daunting thought of exercise too, but since I've had Ben (and Adrienne for that matter) I've consistently been 20lbs overweight. I've been moody, cranky, and not very much fun to be around - just ask Jeff. My thesis advisor is an avid runner who thoroughly believes that a little exercise not only boosts the way you feel about yourself, but gives you that extra shot of neurotransmitters that carry over into everyday life. I always had a problem getting over that initial hump of exhaustion when exercising. I hate the gym, so I exercise outside now, but have already lost 4 lbs and feel much better. Good luck with everything - you look fantastic! |
| 10th July 2009 Marcia | - From: Journey to health Congratulations! You look great and I've noticed the change in you. I'll make sure my meals are nutritious and healthy so you can eat as much as your body needs without adding weight. Thanks for the compliment! |
| 10th July 2009 Denae | WOW! - From: Journey to health I had no idea you were doing all of that. Good job. You do look great and I'm so glad you FEEL great too! I love you! |

| 10th July 2009 Liz | Yay!!!!! - From: Journey to health Congrats to you guys! That's fantastic!!! I, too, am a convert of the Clean Plate Club. Most of the time, at least. SUCH a bad habit but that's how our generations were raised! Keep up the good work and if you need some motivation or some ideas of new things to do at the gym, let me know! You could also volunteer to walk your friend's dog a few miles or get Wendy's kids out on a bike and stroller and walk them for a couple miles. It all adds up! So proud of you! :) |
| 4th July 2009 Marcia | - From: To dah U.P., eh! Being ONE with mother nature... Gorgeous views and surroundings, nasty bugs that bite. Looks/sounds like great fun. Good planning! Love |
| 4th July 2009 Marcia | Beautiful! - From: Hike through Pictured Rocks pictures Pictures were great, even though the camera ran out of juice. You've captured some spectacular views. Makes me want to be there. What a wonder. Love |
| 23rd June 2009 Liz | - From: To dah U.P., eh! Looks like fun so far! My parents and I went on the Pictured Rocks tour YEARS ago, I mean when I was a kid, and to this day it's still one of the most boring 3 hours of my life. I think I'd have more appreciation for it now, but for a kid that can't sit still, it totally sucked. LOVE the pictures though, they look great! :) |
| 23rd June 2009 anonymous | - From: Dah U.P. part II totally beautiful pics!!!!!!!! |

| 8th January 2009 Marcia | The Best! - From: THIS IS IT!! GREAT final cut! Watched some of the other submissions. Not as interesting, visually moving or polished as yours. Your choice of music and images and video transitions was terrific. Loved your script and introduction. You did a great job. Very impressive!!! And knowing you, I know you'll be a great intern. I don't think anyone submitted a better video. |
| 8th January 2009 mommsie | YAYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - From: THIS IS IT!! FANTASTIC JOB!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!! |
| 8th January 2009 Mary L. | Thank you!!!! - From: THIS IS IT!! Thank you for sharing your experiences. You have been to so many interesting places and done so many things it must have been hard to condense it to a few pictures and a short dialog. You did a great job. |
| 6th January 2009 Wendy | I love it! - From: Final Cut? It made me tear up. Very nicely done. The sound was off, but everything else was great. Good luck!! |
| 6th January 2009 Dave Aardvark | your premier video - From: Final Cut? Suzanne, you have such a beautiful attitude about life and living, an attitude that some don't stumble upon until so much later in life. You have already built-up such a stock pile of wonderful memories to enjoy and get you thru those dull & boring times that we all must endure. Keep up accumulating these memories and experiences! Dave L |
| 6th January 2009 Marcia | - From: Final Cut? Give yourself a LOT of credit. It's great. Love the picture of you with camera when you start talking. Music sound is good....not sure how to improve voice over?? Couple of things I'll share with you in person. You've done an impressive job!! |
| 6th January 2009 Liz | Love it! - From: Final Cut? I love it! I agree with the sound quality, I think you need to be a bit louder when you voice-over the rest of it, but other than that, I'd hire you in an instant! Much love and keep us posted :) |
| 6th January 2009 Mike C. | - From: Final Cut? That was awesome! But you're right.. the audio could use just a little tweaking. You know lots of people in bands.. maybe you could pull in some recording help. But I love it! I'm going to show it to Alicia when I get home. |
| 6th January 2009 Denae | Two thumbs up! - From: Final Cut? I love it. I like the scrapbook idea, you talk but not too much. you get your point across simply. I LOVE IT. Of course the sound quality isn't the best and theres always room to improve- but this is really an excellent cut! Good job Suzanne! |
| 3rd January 2009 Lyndsey | Suggestions - From: I need YOUR help! The pictures were beautiful, but I wanted to see more of YOU. The beginning started out strong with the texts and photos of you, but toward the end it just seemed like a bunch of pretty pictures. |
| 31st December 2008 Mommsie | and....... - From: I need YOUR help! Something that made ME want to travel- I really wanted to make it OVER the Mackinaw Bridge! (without falling apart) Now finally having done that, I was able to fly and see Arizona for the first time. My curiosity is peeked - what else am I missing out on? Where do I want to go next? How do I want to get there? With whom? Hope something here helps!! xxoo Mom |
| 31st December 2008 Mommsie | reply to plead - From: I need YOUR help! Ridiculously strong passion and/or desire to travel the world and share experiences with others - CHECK! Excellent creative, written and verbal skills - CHECK! Outgoing personality - CHECK! Video camera/photography skills - CHECK! Basic Mac computer skills - (probably) Enjoy being active and able to hike, bike, kayak, and more! - CHECK! Must be between the ages of 18-26 - CHECK! As far as usable pics for you video - off the top of my head - I see.... a pic of you in the car, leaving with Grandma Scott to Mammoth cave, and another of you guys there. I also see.... you in that 30 below (not sure on the name) ice bar. Then I see... Scott's party and the goofy family pic - home again to visit with family. |
| 31st December 2008 Liz | I love it! - From: I need YOUR help! I have some suggestions, but not necessarily about things you've done that I think need to be included. I assume you'll continue with the narration throughout the rest of the photos? I also think you should either label the pictures (like in a small-ish font, in a corner) that shows where you did all these things (the hammerheads, the rappelling, the bungee jump, etc.) or else show a list of all the places you've been around the world already and either say or put on a new screen shot that you're not done and that you still have so much to learn/see/do throughout the world. I think it'd be good if you were to actually narrate that part yourself or else show the list of places and then when that clears, show yourself (scary, I know!) and say that bit about how you're not done discovering the world. That's all I can think of right now, hope to have more for you again later. :) Good luck, this sounds awesome and I wish I could apply for it too! |
| 31st December 2008 Marcia | - From: I need YOUR help! Well, you got my attention. Well done! Love the images and music too. What a great opportunity for you. I've loved all of your stories. The more personal and revealing, the better. I'll be thinking . |
| 31st December 2008 Wendy | For sure... - From: I need YOUR help! The ice bar! The zip lines, The scuba diving down to get into the cave, the very super private beach you almost didnt find. Good luck with it. I'm no help on the tech stuff. |
| 31st December 2008 Mike C. | Nice! - From: I need YOUR help! That was completely fantastic for a first try. I have never tried to make a video (aside from just raw footage) ever and I have no idea how to. BUT, I must say that the video footage of you doing that bungee jump I watched over and over when you first posted it. You wanted to know about what you've posted that impacted me... that's one for sure. My gut DROPS TO THE FLOOR every time I watch it. |
