I am a Straw-necked Ibis and I love to travel. Every year I migrate to Indonesia and around Australia. I follow the seasons and the weather and I enjoy travelling with my family.

We are leaving Coffs Harbour today and it’s a shame to go as we’ve had so much fun here. As you can see we visited the big banana. We skipped the tour and went straight into the fields for a feed. No bananas for us of course, just lots of amphibians and reptiles. Yum! We took a day trip to Dorrigo Rainforest. There is a nice walk and a great view up there. I was happy we didn’t stay the night as rainforests are not for me. Too damp and dark. I like a nice open wetland or farm. We’ve been so lucky with the weather on this trip. The trip continues and we are enjoying every moment. The north coast has so many great places to stay and fantastic food. We just spent a few days near Yamba. We found a lovely freshwater wetland in a tidal lagoon near the beach. It’s called Wooleweyah Lagoon. It was a perfect spot for fishing and we feasted on frogs, molluscs and insects. We took a day trip to Yamba and had some beer battered grasshoppers at the Bird Club on the hill over looking the beach. We are flying again today. We were heading for Lismore but it is too far for a day’s travel so we will stop in the canefields tonight.
