Stepsel Meaw Moni Tuffi - Monique Dobbert

I´m looking for challenges all the time. I´ve been living in Denmark at a really special place, since summer 2006 and I have gained lots of skills, that I want to use for my next adventure. My plan is to travel from Denmark until Thailand and up to Mongoliet so that I can take the transibirian train through Russia. The travel is planned to be a low-budget travel, it means: hitchhiking, using the hospitality from people ... being a backpacker. I plan to be back after 1 year.
I´m going to do this travel together with a friend, Katha.
This travel blog is mostly for my friends, so that they can read where I am and what I am doing. I want to share my experiences with them.

Wow ... we are finally in Pakistan. The train was supposed to leave from Zahedan at the 17th in the morning and arrive in Quetta the day after in the afternoon. Well, The train cae first late in the evening. There were just the drivers and a postman in the train. We were the only passengers. The day after we arrived the border to Pakistan. We had to get out of the train and walked to the passport control. Afterwards we wanted to walk back to the train but they didn't want to let us. Lots of people even told us [View Full Entry]

Iran Middle East » Iran
Our stay in Iran is almost over. I will definatly never forget the time that we have experienced here. We have had so many interesting conversations about the things that you usually don't get to know. Our route has been: Khoy, Tabriz, Qom, Esfahan, Yazd, Kerman and Zahedan. All the places are different, I will not remember all the monuments but I will remember the people we have met. I will remember Khoy and Tabriz as places that have still a bit of turkish mentality. Qom is definatly a place if you want to learn about religion ... lots of mullahs [View Full Entry]

Hej everyone! After two weeks travelling in Turkey along the Black sea coast we have arrived Iran. Turkey was great, since I had been a bit afraid to hitchhike in Turkey. But hitchhiking was so easy there and we met lots of friendly people ... People that drove more than 100 km extra just to make sure that we arrive well ... People who cared a lot for us. We had great conversation about the difference of turkish people in Germany and Turks in Turkey. They told us their opinion about it and we have got a new picture of turkish [View Full Entry]

We arrived Greece yesterday. In Thessaloniki we met a nice rumanian couple who invited us and took us to Plathamona - a town south of Thessaloniki. We stayed at a campingplace ... surrounded by ants, some mosquitos and a lot of noise ... so we didn't get so much sleep. Unexpectable we also had to pay. There are some reasons why we thought that we didn't have to. Now we are at another place again ... prices were to high there. In Khala it seems to be cheaper. Now we are just waiting for an answer if somebody can host us [View Full Entry]

So, yesterday we were lucky again. Together with a famous actor in Albania we drove to Pogradess- a town near the border. Everybody wanted to make pictures of him while we were walking along the street. Then we met a friend of him - Jona., who took care for us for the rest of the day. Her father owned a coffee-bar where we could sleep on the floor. I think they really trusted us a lot. They gave us the key and let us alone there. The only negative part was that we needed to get up at 6 am because [View Full Entry]

Three days ago we arrived Albania. In the beginning we got the feeling that hitchhiking will not be easy because some people expected to get money. As we arrived Tirana - the capital- we were lokking for a telephonebox to call the numbers of people from that town. A girl - Dorina- helped us and after we couldn't reach any of our contacts, Dorina offert us to stay at her house together with her family. The day after - yesterday- we went to the center and suddenly I started to get sick. I got disy, headache , diare, and suddenly I [View Full Entry]

Hej! We have been on the way for about 9 days now. I think hitchhiking is great because you get in contact with locals. I would say, everything just comes how it comes. We don't need to wait for cars so much time. We started in Germany to the border to Poland. At the first day we wanted to hitchhike until Slovakia but near Krakow a nice couple asked us if we would like to stay in their weekendhouse because it was already getting dark. We very very lucky and they took very good care for us. In Slovakia and Hungary [View Full Entry]
