Rio
Hey guys, saw the link to your blog on facebook. Sounds like you're having a great time in Rio, bit more hardcore than NZ, what with all the dead bodies etc! Interesting to hear what it's like to visit Brazil, might have to make a trip sometime. Just in the Bay of Islands at the moment, making the most of the sunshine before we head to the US next week, so beautiful up here!

Stuck in Lao Cai
Hi Guys, Wow what a bummer that you are stuck up there, unwillingly. Myself and my family plan to be in Lao Cai/Sapa on 28th Aug (two weeks away) and now I'm not sure what to do. It will probably be fixed by then for sure, but what if another flood damages the train lines again? And kills more people? What would you advice? Can you use the time to go to Bac Ha or somewhere else? Or are you just waiting to get out? This will stuff all my well laid plans if it happens to us. As you said you were bored I thought I would email you so you have someone else to talk to. I am following all travel blogs in Vietnam in preparation for my trip which starts 21 Aug - for 23 days of backpacking north to south. I would hate to miss out on Sapa. Keep me posted if you can. Cheers Debbie

Yes its crazy isn't it - fair enough maybe you'd read a strangers blog if you were travelling to a country and wanted to find out about it, but why on earth would you just do it in your spare time and pass judgements on what others are chatting to there mates about! Seriously, get your own mates, talk to them! Anyway, all sounds good - i didn't go to the beach in cambodia (Sihanoukville?) but saw all the same upsetting tourist attractions as you did in Phonm Penh. I'll warn you though, if you don't like people bugging you and begging at you (and really, who does?!), North Vietnam might be a struggle... Chat to you later moaner :o) x

Your Chang Mai experience was very well written, I had a very good visual of you falling down, getting bitten and I guess moaning which gave me more than a few chuckles. Keep the updates coming.

Memories...
Ah... all the memories have come flooding back. Trekking through mud in torrential rain, losing your guide because him and flip flops are a mile ahead of you, slipping over int he mud, falling into rivers, balancing on precipices, thinking you actually might die.... happy days. Congrats on the squatting... you've got a lot of it to go yet. Wow you know i was probably where you are exactly a year ago! xx

Hi Steph and Ian Shame to hear that your not loving the experience so far....at least its only been a few days since you arrived so plenty of time for that to change! Nothing much been happening hear so far although dont know if you've heard but have a new hairstyle (as has sarah) - braided my hair and ppl are loving it so think now gonna cont. doing it. Apparently - I look really diff now (will get some pics up on facebook for u 2 c). I know where u coming from with the cold girl - u know what im like for getting ill and guess what, just 3 days in the office and ive caught another bloomin cold after just clearing the last one! Cant believe either that they got boots?! Managed to miss The Apprentice final after having to work late so hoping can catch the repeat tonight. I have been able to not find out who won yet so it will be a great surprise later. Re Big Bro - pretty rubbish although there is a really mouthy girl from croydon (called Alex) who is getting on my f****** nerves at the mo. I actually know who she is (though not a friend of mine thank god)! Anyway, have nothing more interesting to add so will go now. Hope u'll find the lady-boys (and when u do take some pics of them)!
